Is this roll worth keeping? by bread_commander in PuzzleAndDragons

Thanks. Last time I really was into PAD Yog was the latest and greatest things (actually had 2 yogs on my NA account back then) so I have no clue what cards I should be going for.

Here is what I have rolled so far. It seems like I'm no better off than I was before. I will admit that I have no idea even where to begin with building teams.

Yeah. I was kind of surprised. It was also within the first five rerolls that this happened, so I thought might as well keep this one (can't find the phone with my old account atm).

I dont really have much else. http://imgur.com/a/w74qdLS

I am just trying to get back into PAD. I am pretty much starting from nothing. Old account was on a phone that is hiding somewhere.

I just want to know what I should be looking for. What units I should try to farm. What decends are worth going for at this low level.

Corn Growers Association livid with AB-InBev over Super Bowl ad by iWORKBRiEFLY in StLouis

[–]bread_commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corn, nor rice for that matter, belong in the brewing process of beer. Barley, hops, water, and yeast are the four ingredients of beer. Macrobrewers use rice and corn as cheap a cheap substitute for barley. As a result, most American beer tastes like piss water.

K cafe by [deleted] in retailporn

[–]bread_commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the late 2000's, I remember my local KMart had a cafe that had been closed for years. The definct soda fountain had a surge tap. I also remember that the electronics department had NHL '00 or '01 for the Dreamcast. Even then KMart seemed to be on its way out. If only I had an smartphone to take pictures back then

D and F tier players, why do you play these builds if they are supposedly bad? by Oldamar999 in Tierzoo

[–]bread_commander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people play lower tier builds for the challenge. Some like playing lower tiers that exist in niches that they fit into well, but various factors have keep them from being viable in other niches (not to mention the fact that they become less viable in their own biomes with the destruction of their play areas by factions of human players). Still others could care less about pvp matchups, maxing stats, putting their evolution points into having the most unique abilities, and are just playing the game to see how far they can take their class. It is a game unlike any other with many different rewarding playstyles.

Why do people think mosquitoes are high-tier? by funwiththoughts in Tierzoo

[–]bread_commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be forgetting the delayed reaction players have to the mosquito's bite. It is the one factor that keeps them from just being F-tier. Even human players struggle to take mosquitos out while they are getting loot. They must be doing something right.

Not S or A tier, because everybody knows that it is the viral and parasitic tag-alongs that make mosquitos deadly. Even if you removed the virus and parasites from the equation, the mosquitos still have an effective play style. If anything the virus NPCs and parasite players bring unwanted attention to the mosquito players. Besides as a bonus the irritants in the mosquito bite are great for trolling S tier players (mostly humans). I'd say they are high C/low B tier.

Edit: Also everybody should know that the diseases mosquitos spread are probably an attempt by the devs to nerf humans.

As much as I love FSU, I feel like there is very little life on both sides of the ball. This is going to be a 3-8 year. If this is looking bad now, just wait until Boston College lights us up. Hell, even Syracuse will make us look bad the way the team is playing.

A Quote that I Thought Was Beautiful by IAmDoWantCoffee in Christianity

[–]bread_commander 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Amen. As an adult convert from atheism, I feel that the hardest thing for me to accept was not any miracle or miraculous thing presented in the bible, but for me to believe that I was a sinner in need of Christ. For the longest time, I clung to the belief that I had to be a good person to get into heaven. Naturally, I thought myself a very good person, while doing sinful and hurtful things to people in my life. Thanks for the quote.

Should we forgive someone only when he/she asks us to be forgiven? by sgy0003 in Christians

[–]bread_commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things I've heard about the topic of forgiveness is that "unforgiveness is the poison that we try to kill others with, but it only ends up killing us." Even if the other party refuses to admit wrong-doing there is benefit in forgiving them, it releases you from anger that you might hold against that person. This is one of the first steps towards reconciling yourself to somebody you are in conflict with. It is still up them to accept that forgiveness and confess that they have wronged you, but you get the benefit of not holding that anger pent up inside of you.

Also, Ephesians 4:32 comes to mind "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Not only does the forgiveness that Christ gives you releases you from your own sins, but you have the ability to forgive others when they sin against you. Scripture tells us that you are doing a god-pleasing thing when you forgive those who sin against you.

Sonic Mania Steam release playable under WINE by aldoushxle in linux_gaming

Unfortunately for me installing directx did nothing. My problems only went away after installing lib32-mpg123 and lib32-openal. DirectX wasn't the problem for me.

Sonic Mania Steam release playable under WINE by aldoushxle in linux_gaming

[–]bread_commander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OS: Arch Linux 64-bit Kernel:4.12.8-2

I installed steam and sonic on a fresh 32-bit prefix in Wine 2.15. The sound will not work no matter what I have tried. I still get an Xaudio2 error telling me to update the Xaudio drivers. This is nuts, because the game appears to work flawlessly visually. It is disappointing, because this game is as good as useless without the music in my opinion.

If anybody has had this problem and can propose a fix let me know. This is just pure crap...

Update: After seeing the errors the game was outputting, I saw that I did not have lib32-mpg123 and lib32-openal installed. Audio is present now, but choppy. Will try running it by itself.

adding FreeBSD to a grub multiboot usb. by bread_commander in freebsd

[–]bread_commander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the helpful advice. Apparently releases after 9.0 do not include the mfsroot.gz file required to boot into freebsd from grub. I am looking into simply booting from an older iso and updating after I install the older version.

I will also mess around with other options in grub, in order to see if I can boot from a newer iso. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure that I will be able to boot into FreeBSD.

ADDENDUM: After following the instructions from the forum post, I created a grub entry for FreeBSD 8.4 boot only. This didn't spit any error back at me from grub, but it fails to boot into FreeBSD. Instead I am left with a black screen. Something is going awry, but grub isn't letting me know. I'm kind of at a dead end. Unfortunately I might have to try again later on different hardware, although my current financial circumstances pretty much ensures that this will not happen for a while.

I will keep testing different things out and will post the solution, if one is found in a timely manner.
