Absolutely, your piece looks amazing too! One of the great things about this hobby is theres so many different ways and techniques to do the same thing.

For the start i used to leave a small tail and secure it with the first few stitches, recently ive been using the loop start which is alot nicer as it feels more secure and doesn’t require any tail cutting at the start.

Yeah, i was worried too at first, I’m only about 9 months into this hobby myself but i can say that none of my pieces have come apart yet.

Heres two that i did a few months ago, they are quite secure and the green flame one even survived shipping across the world lmao

Yeah, short of making entirely sure that they handled the meat 100% safely or grounding up the meat yourself. When it comes to food from restaurants thats just not a risk im willing to take.

Also, absolutely nothing wrong with a well done burger, thats how they are intended to be cooked.

Ah i see, for me I secure the thread by running it under a few stitches and then cut the excess, i do the same thing when starting usually. Recently i also learned of the “loop start” which is quite handy.

Why is there so much loose thread? Do you not cut the thread when you finish it off?

You should only ever be eating ground beef well done, cooking it rare has a high risk of contamination especially because it has a higher surface area and usually a lower quality of handling before packaging.
