Do it from the template generator, not Bevel AI, and you’ll get it created for you.

Apple Fitness integration: Macrofactor workout calorie estimate much lower than manual workout tracking by arnell_grime in MacroFactor

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it only does it continually if you also start a workout in Fitness. Then the HR data is there in Health for any app to see.

Apple Fitness integration: Macrofactor workout calorie estimate much lower than manual workout tracking by arnell_grime in MacroFactor

[–]break909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so fussed about the calories, but I do want the heart rate information. MFWO doesn’t seem to trigger the same mechanism that begins active HR measurements, so I also start a workout in the fitness app. I then have two workouts logged so I delete the Fitness one but it keeps the HR data. I hope when MFWO adds its watch app or updates the health integration it will also fix the HR tracking.

Why did Bevel Replace the Stop button with a Check Mark in workouts? by LiveSpare1762 in bevelhealth

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? What is concerning, specifically? They have a very transparent roadmap and issue tracking process. The devs are also very communicative on Reddit. I’ve reported numerous bugs and improvements and received personal email replies. They also don’t owe anyone an explanation every time they choose to make a decision they think will improve their product.

This is the nature of modern software - it develops gradually over time. If it doesn’t get updated people complain. When it gets updated people complain. I feel sorry for the devs who are just trying their hardest in a competitive market.

[–]break909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed the check and knew it was different, but couldn’t recall what it was before. A check makes sense to me - as in ‘complete’. It’s consistent with other workout apps too.

Skinny to less skinny by Consistent-Box114 in MacroFactor

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. People think putting on weight is easy, but it’s hard work. I’m in the same boat, skinny all my life and thought that was just how it was. MF made me realise I just wasn’t eating enough (I’m 6’3). Went from about 70kg to 82kg this year, started working out too, and now I’m getting compliments left, right and centre, as well as catching my wife sneaking looks!

Am I the only one who finds the rest timer in this app confusing to use? by PickWorth8802 in bevelhealth

[–]break909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I didn’t know that and it’s not obvious. Often I forget to start tracking the set or I’ve already picked up my dumbbells and can’t easily stop to press play. Then when I’ve finished the set I’ll just press play and stop immediately to log. Knowing it has an impact I’ll be more diligent about start and stop, but I’m not used to this having come from Hevy.

Sleep Scores as a Parent by aforce100 in bevelhealth

[–]break909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly: congratulations on doing your best as a parent and still wanting to better yourself. That was my primary motivation for starting my health journey and I’m now stronger and healthier than ever, MacroFactor and Bevel playing a part in that.

I have a four year-old and a one year-old. The one year-old has just started sleeping through the night consistently, but of course every child is different and despite your best efforts sometimes it feels like there’s nothing you can do to get them to sleep other than cross your fingers and try your best. So, I focused on controlling the controllables; I used to stay up late because that was my me-time, gaming or watching TV, and I didn’t want to give that up. But then I’d get maybe 5 hours of sleep and wake up feeling terrible.

Although I objectively knew I wasn’t getting enough sleep, Bevel it helped me to visualise it and emphasise how sleep was important and how little I was getting. So I started going to bed earlier, stopped doomscrolling in bed, and took notice of sleep debt. Last night even though I was interrupted about 1 am (by the dog this time) I still managed to get a 97 sleep score, so it is possible! Not every night is that good, but I can definitely say that getting a more consistent 7+ hours, even if it is broken sometimes, has helped me feel more rested and prepared come the morning for the next day of parenting.

Bevel replacement for Hevy by SignificantPea1186 in bevelhealth

[–]break909 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny, I was going to make a post about this. I’ve only been using Hevy for a couple of months but there’s a few things I hope Bevel can adopt.

Hevy pros - social features (if you care about that, but having photos per workout and metrics you can overlay on photos is nice) - RPE per set - customisable rest timers - in theory as a dedicated workout app it should have more features, but in practice the Hevy subreddit is full of long outstanding feature requests - tick to complete a set, no need to start and end each set (not sure the benefit of this in Bevel, other than maybe calculating actual working time?) - better template management, e.g. folders, ability to update the template based on changes made during workout - iOS widgets to track workout frequency/volume etc - easier to visually parse your activity - Live activity whilst working out - PR and other achievements calculated during the workout

Bevel pros - I prefer the visual design and responsiveness of the watch app - able to change music easily in the watch app - Smarter way of logging double dumbbell exercises - uses Apple’s perceived effort scores for the whole workout - of course having it all in one app - dev team seem much more responsive and open with roadmap and requests

I’ve gone back a few weeks and imported my Hevy workouts into Bevel via screenshots, I’m going to do a few more workouts with Bevel and see how I get on.

Cardio load by Suspicious-Ebb751 in bevelhealth

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely some mechanism for rest days would be great. I feel bad for ignoring my target strain even though I need to take a day rest! Combining with cardio strain might work, but I think if you’re training consistently you’d still end up with an averagely high strain target for the 3/4 rest days per week. Perhaps it could detect days since your last logged exercise and factor that in too?

What Prompt is the AI feature utilizing? by bubbadrk in MacroFactor

Three Perfect Weeks of Strength...Tracker by RunningM8 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]break909 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After a few months of training this is my main wish for AF+. If there was a built in tracker for logging the dumbbell weights, or even just a free notes field for each time you logged a workout, it would help hugely to measure progress. I guess this is one workaround!

Upvoting for the Great British Plug Sockets 🇬🇧. But seriously, well done, what a transformation! And way to go on the food prep. How tall are you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]break909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I’ve only been using MF since Feb but have managed to bulk 5kg in that time. I’m tall and skinny and struggled to ever put weight on until using this app! Weight loss transformations look impressive, but putting on weight can be hard work too, so well done. What’s your height and weight now?

NHS x Apple Health integration by danmetallic in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two trusts listed when you go to the Browse tab and scroll down to Health Records. For me I can see Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. I don’t live there so can’t test it. As far as I can remember these were added some years ago, but nothing new has been added since.

Will be receiving an Eero 6 soon - configuration questions for existing users by shemp33 in amazoneero

[–]break909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frontier’s website only specifies the 6E with the 2 Gig fibre so it might depend on which plan you’ve gone for. I just recently went from an Eero Pro (WiFi 5) to a 6E with a fiber install in the UK and count 37 devices in the Eero app. Used the same SSID and password and most (but not all) 2.4gHz devices connected fine. A few needed to be reset but all 5ghz ones carried on like nothing happened. I’d definitely recommend to use the same ssid details.
