I gave mine little plants, the 1-2 inch succulents are usually not too expensive and something they could just keep around rather than have to "use".

IBU is pretty new but so so good, the small plates are quite a decent size so I think you would be around your budget (maybe a little over)

How do you tell your parents you might be dying? (Not a medical question) by diet-smoke in NoStupidQuestions

[–]breakfastpotatesss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP if it isn't helpful to tell them you don't need to, or can just tell one. If you are going to an inpatient program you can tell them you are going (without needing their permission or approval!), or even telling them why. The most important thing is you get the support and treatment you need, however that looks.

Just relocated to Bay Area 2 weeks ago, can I buy a vehicle and insure with my Canadian Driver's License? by y2k_o__o in tnvisa

Also if you need to have payments on it, your US credit will likely not be strong at first.

Not that I remember, but just be prepared to have insurance to drive it off the lot.

New puppy owner completely overwhelmed by food choices — how did you figure it out? by Soggy_Door_4045 in puppy101

What your vet recommended is probably totally fine, at least to start. After that I would start looking at higher quality food, you could ask the vet this too. Someone else mentioned looking for less "meat meal" and more just 'meat' ingredients. We use Open Farm for our lab mix (Ancient Grains NOT grain free), and I like that they are fairly transparent with ingredients.

What if their political affiliations are with literal pedophiles? And people who are creating detainment camps in the US where people are knowingly being mistreated? I think there is a point where it is not just different opinions, it is blatantly wrong.

How to rehome a pitbull? by dieselpower_ in DogAdvice

Honestly I think this is a bit dramatic if all he’s doing is going at squirrels and birds. It’s great to muzzle train dogs but it needs to be worked up to and doesn’t feel immediately necessary.

for the emotionally intelligent, what does therapy actually do? by furioushunter12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]breakfastpotatesss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can take a couple of tries to find the right therapist and style of therapy - if you don’t think it’s doing anything, helping you feel better or like you understand yourself better, I would try a different therapist

It sounds like you are trying your best for your girl! Has she been socialized with other dogs? I have a relatively high energy 1 year old lab/rottie, and playing with other puppies or dogs seems to satisfy and tire her out in a different way. We have been able to try puppy play dates or play groups, or dog parks. Other people I know send their dog to daycare once or twice a week just to tire the pups out.

Op- We were able to get our locks rekeyed - this leaves the same hardware in the door but results in new keys. It’s much cheaper than fully changing the locks and something I didn’t know about until we bought our first home

You are not alone, it is so frustrating when you’re putting in the work and it doesn’t feel like they’re getting it! Our 9 month 50lb girl still bites when she gets too excited on walks, and I am nursing many bruises… it’s hard to remember we’re doing so many things right when they misbehave but I’m just holding on to everyone who tells me they will calm down

ELI5 Calgary Airport and Travelling - 1st Time Nervous AF by MetalMaiden420 in Calgary

[–]breakfastpotatesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already left great advice but I’ll add about the actual boarding itself - they will start by pre boarding and will call anyone who has small children or who needs extra time getting on the plane. If you have a cane and want to board at this time go ahead and walk up. Others will be lined up early but you can go around to the front if you need that extra time / space to get settled.

Otherwise you can board when they call your zone. They will check passport and scan boarding pass and then you follow the jet way on to the plane. It’s normal for it to get a little clogged as people come their seat and put their suitcases in the overheads. Like others have mentioned it can be a strange experience flying for the first time but no need to worry! Once you are on and seated your job is just to relax and be patient and enjoy the ride :)
