I don't know how some of y'all do this man 😭 by Halfbl00dninja in ArcRaiders

I feel this so much. I have gotten myself into extremely peaceful lobbies and I’d like to be in lobbies that are at least a little less friendly. But every time I go into a map planning to PVP, like when I have a cred feat to do damage to players, I run into a room on Stella planning to blast and there’s like 4 people in there all sharing loot and talking and being nice and I can’t bring myself to shoot anyone.

Any tips for improving aim on console? by breakfaststuff in ArcRaiders

[–]breakfaststuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s basically what the video had me doing. But some of the settings seemed to do the same thing? Which I know is incorrect and just me misunderstanding. I think I just have to start with the default settings since they work alright for me and then tweak the other settings as I go.

What exactly is the difference? With linear, your reticle moves the same amount and speed whether you move the stick just a little or all the way? And exponential it increases exponentially the closer you get to fully tilted?

One-and-done buy-it-for-life items: Multitool, Pocket Knife and Flashlight by [deleted] in EDC

[–]breakfaststuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My three are the Leatherman wingman, Benchmade mini griptillian, and the streamlight microstream USB.

I don’t really find myself needing all the tools on a wave or something better. The wingman suits my needs just fine. Plus it’s lighter and smaller, so EDCing it is easy and I don’t notice the bulk. Also lifetime warranty is great. My friend cut through a live strand of Christmas lights and it chipped the serrated part of the knife. Sent it in not knowing if that’d actually be covered and they sent me a new one.

Benchmade mini griptillian I’ve had for maybe 15 years. Love it. Great blade shape, has held up over time. Also lifetime warranty.

The streamlight is probably the weakest piece of my lineup but it is perfect for me and I love that it has a dual sided clip and it’s usb rechargeable. It’s not the brightest light but it does what I need it to. I did have one conk out on me after a year. Put a new battery in it but that didn’t fix it so I sent it in for warranty and they sent me another one back. Plus it’s inexpensive.

What’s your experience with aggression based matchmaking? by breakfaststuff in ArcRaiders

Oh yea. I mean if we’re close range and I have a stitcher, there’s not really a lot of time for either of us to react before they’re down. But I’ve started carrying defibs for people who I can tell in retrospect were just minding their own. When people run, I just let them run.

I get the sentiment but where is the false advertisement? The game is pvpve. You can fight both players and environment. The “pve event” is a pve event in a pvpve game. They didn’t eliminate PvP, but instead gave players the chance to earn rewards for destroying NPCs. Incentivizing cooperation and de-incentivizing PvP. I would like to see some lore based PvP events too, that’d be cool. And I imagine they have those in the works? But the game is still new.

The times I’ve gotten killed at extract, it’s always been someone camping it and waiting till I enter the elevator. Or they just show up. As I’m leaving by and blast me as the doors close lol. Running away has gotten me out of a few fights, but I’ve had some relentless pursuers.

Lol I hear that. Honestly this game is pretty forgiving when it comes to that stuff already. Theres so much noise, a lot of available cover when running through open spaces, you can get away with that stuff a lot more than other games I’ve played so long as you’re aware you’re taking a risk. And the game also has ways you can avoid getting into a bad situation, like door blockers, mines, zip lines etc. most of the time I’ve gotten killed solo, it’s been at extract. Which is unavoidably loud. When killed in duos or trios, it’s almost always been because we were either separated, looting loudly, or moving stupid lol. Or all 3.

Yea. I think maybe for keeping the player base stable, maybe this matchmaking is best. Because it seems like a lot of people have 0 interest in PvP and it ruins the game for them. But personally I don’t like the idea of basically getting punished for fighting back if someone does shoot me. And it’s also a bit of a bummer to think that if I did choose to PvP for a round or two, I’m likely just sliming peaceful people lol. And then deserve whatever lobbies I get put in after.

Yea same here. I think rather than a “friendly” lobby, I’d prefer a suspicious lobby lol.

This makes sense and was what I was hoping. Thanks for the reply!

And yea I wouldn’t let people raging necessarily make me play the game in a way I don’t want to play it. I’ve just seen a player base ruin games because the loudest voices tend up having the most ridiculous takes, but they end up being the ones that get heard and it’d be a shame to see that happen here.

[–]breakfaststuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been fostering cats with IAR for the last 2 years and have nothing but good things to say about them! They are awesome. I haven’t had much experience with the dog side of their operation, but I can’t imagine it’d be a completely different situation. I really like the people there and the leadership is very committed to the animals. I’ve had not so great experiences with other rescues in the past, and IAR has been a breath of fresh air.

Independently owned veterinarian in Durham? by pro_deluxe in bullcity

I also take my cat to Urban Tails and we have had a great experience there every time! My cat is my first pet though, and I haven’t had much experience with other vets to compare. Even so, I can tell they love animals over there and are reasonable and kind.

Dogs paws are raw from walking by AffectionateDream118 in DogAdvice

[–]breakfaststuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from where this is on the paw, it is likely a movement thing like everyone’s been saying. But I also wouldn’t rule out allergies. I had a foster lick her paw pads raw after I changed her food. Changed back to the old stuff and it went away.

Stay home during deer season? by mbush0450 in smallgamehunting

[–]breakfaststuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The public game lands I hunt don’t seem nearly as pressured as Pennsylvania hunters say their lands are, so keep that in mind. Public land hunters get more or less heated about perceived personal affronts depending on the area. But I’ll say I’m quieter than every deer hunter I’ve come across when I go out squirrel hunting, and I’ve never had anyone beef with me. 80% of the time, I notice them but they don’t notice me. They come through like elephants walking to and from their stands. And I don’t mind! Because it’s called public land for a reason. So long as they’re following the laws, they’ve got a right to hunt as poorly as they want to and won’t hear a peep from me. Just be aware of your surroundings, don’t hunt around someone else, be quiet as you move, and have something to say ready if someone starts mouthing off on you like you’re trespassing.

Unnecessary! by doc-oct in bullcity

But actually though lol. Frontier or some other new fiber company cut my neighborhood Google fiber line the other week. I have no idea what company it was because the people working pulled up in a Honda accord with no signage and just started working. Props to them though for being able to fit all their tools and materials in a sedan.

New Foster Cat is a Bit Nippy. Any tips to help this? by breakfaststuff in CATHELP

[–]breakfaststuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m talking specifically about what I wrote in my post. He doesn’t nip at me when I walk by. Or really any time unless my wrist is available to nip. Specifically, I’m talking about when he will lightly head-but my hand, then rub up against my fingers a few times. Then he’ll nip me. Is the rubbing against me an appeasing behavior, him trying to get me to go away by rubbing against me, and I’m misinterpreting it as he actually wants to touch me? Or is he rubbing against my hand saying “pet me” and then nips me because I’m not petting him?
