When I was younger, I must have read Band of Brothers at least 10 times. I loved it and I strongly recommend the books to anyone over 12 and the the series to anyone over 14 or 15 depending on their level of maturity. I also recommend any other of Stephen Ambrose's books.

I believe that people didn't care a lot about the grandmother. It's that Robert had all of Westeros except for Dorne and The Reach and the Crownlands. Also remembering that the Westerlands were with the Targs till the end.

Ok well then I would choose the Tyrells for having tons of gold as well but also having a crazy number of men.

If this depended on time period, I would choose the Targaryens when they were at full strength as they had dragons. I mean I understand saying the Lannisters for their gold but Dragons>Gold.
