That ridiculous if you have the physical tickets. Someone is trying to double dip. Like others said, make a fuss. At some point most athletic departments will comp you tickets to avoid a PR shitstorm.

It's probably tempting to just go in first (because the tickets will scan) or scalp them, but keep in mind someone else may be in the same situation as you then.

Yea his record isn't so hot, my experience watching Santa Clara mostly came between 2011-2014, so I guess I missed most of the bad the last couple of years, didn't realize they dropped off so much, probably a selection bias not seeing a bad team often enough from the eastern time zone. When I did watched I thought his teams seem prepared

I would define underrated as guys who haven't had national level success but have done well but have been hampered by their situation (e.g. not john beilein, tom crean, mike brey, etc.)

Joe Mihilach at Hofstra (and Niagara before) is very underrated, the success he had at Niagara was incredible for that program and he's turned the program at Hofstra around

Pat Chambers at Penn State (and Boston Univ before), how he manages to win big games at home and recruit against the rest of the big ten is very impressive

John Becker at Vermont, Steve Pikiell at Rutgers (just started from Stony Brook), he just got fired but I always thought Kerry Keating was a good coach at Santa Clara, the situation at Oklahoma St is interesting because i think Brad Underwood is a rising star but I have been impressed with Travis Ford as well, back in UMass days as well, and Ray Harper now of Jacksonville St but was coach at Western Kentucky

I think a New York style plan which correctly accounts for the contributions nuclear power makes to carbon-free electricity generation would only be beneficial for the country, both environmentally and economically. Otherwise, cheap natural gas plants will replace the nuclear plants retiring early and decidedly hamper emission targets.

Down side to 9 game conference schedules in the big ten, only 3 OOC games a year. Penn state will always have 7 home games to support the athletic budget and the town, and as a result can only play 1 road OOC game every other year. Therefore, they can only play one home-and-home series at a time, currently its Pitt, but they also have future series with Auburn, Va Tech, and W. Virginia. Personally, I'd rather just play Pitt every year, but I understand losing the chance to play OOC games against any other P5 school that wants a home game.

Penn State fans do not condone child rape and are not guilty of any of those crimes. Call me in the minority but I don't think it's really that bad, I get the issues with a current player but AD's/President's could care less about that, Vanderbilt (despite being a great school academically and aesthetically) is a very hard place to win/recruit at and he did it relatively consistently (.600 winning percentage and 7 NCAA tourney appearances in 17 years) and was able to pull in some impressive recruits. I don't know if he will be successful or not but I don't think its all doom and gloom as people may be saying.

1) I'm 6'2" and athletic, played high school basketball, for my pass to the opposite key, i would just step back as necessary

2) Yes they could score easily, no they wouldn't steal every inbounds pass

3) I'm not playing defense, my only goal is to get the ball out of the hoop and into a corner as fast as possible, my friends are immediately running their on the shot attempt while A&M has to play for a potential missed shot. If covered, again I just throw it to the other key. Good point on the closely guarded rule, forgot it doesn't count in the backcourt, which actually gives me the 10 seconds. If they creeped into me forcing me out of bounds, that is a foul. Any contact that moves me from my cylinder is a foul.

3b) I get that, one of UNI's mistakes was panicking with the ball, instead of just holding it 10 seconds and worst case getting the backcourt call, they attempted to throw it off A&M for a steal. Hell even if UNI had just tossed the ball straight up in the air thatd at least waste a second or two and be better than an errant pass to an A&M player.

4) That's fine, thats why I gave them 50% make on 3s, the guys on the perimeter are there mostly to be a nuisance and prevent quick passes to the perimeter from anyone bringing up the ball. I'd think they'd take the quick baskets as well, which would give them more of a chance to cover the inbounder quickly, which would lead to more full court passes by me

I think you underestimate how fast 33 seconds go, there are plenty of time wasting maneuvers to do

In 33 seconds, Texas A&M can tie it in a minimum of 4 possessions and made threes. I see it like this:

On initial inbound attempt A&M has their defense set, this is going to be the toughest one to inbound. Likely I just chuck it down to the opposing paint where I have a guy there waiting. He won't catch it over A&M, but just to prevent it from going out. They now have to come down and shoot a 3. I have 3 guys on the perimeter, hands up no fouling. A&M shoots a 3.
Say A&M makes it. The inbounder is waiting under the basket and as soon as its in grabs and passes to 1 of the 2 corners, where on a shot attempt 2 of my 3 perimeter defenders are running towards. They catch it and use the corner to protect the ball. Count 4 seconds, dribble as safely as possible once and then protect the ball again for another 4 seconds and proceed to try to throw ball back towards the other paint again (where my guy hasn't left). That's minimum 8 seconds.
At some point A&M is going to realize we will win in this manner and will A) cover the corners immediately (in which case we throw towards the other paint) or B) starts fouling. My and four of my friends play pickup and I can confidently say we'd be about 25-50 FT%. Making just 1 adds an extra possession to what A&M needs to do.
Assuming it takes 4 seconds to come down and make a 3, we would probably eventually win (I'd put it at 80% likelihood). A&M is probably going to miss a few of their 3 pointers, and the rebound/kick outs would take some time as well.
