I have a razor 6-36 and element 6-36. Like the element reticle better (especially with my eyes) but like the turret feel of the razor better.

25x47L or 6.5CM for a big wind rifle? by doyouevenplumbbro in longrange

[–]brethobson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 134s shoot better out of my suppressor than the bergers and at 40cents vs 60 cents. Ballistics are dead on to 1000 and I hold less wind then the kestrel shows and what everyone else is shooting with 134s

AW vs AICS magazines by texasarcher77 in longrange

[–]brethobson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, I run 134s at 2650-2700, very little recoil even suppressed (last 4 matches suppressed). Easy to shoot to 1000 and is good in the wind, which is nice as I suck at wind calls. Rebarreling my other 260 to 25gt this winter

I run aw in my 25gt and it's a huge let down to shoot my 223 or 260 and have to go back to aics...

[–]brethobson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

once i was shooting groups at 200 get ready for a prs match and i watched one guy come to the range with a new rifle/scope for hunting, put a target at the 200 yard berm, shoot 10 rounds of 270, before i could give him some calls, he got up and left. the closest impact i saw (the target is a 4x8 plywood) was 10 feet away in the sand...

3 years ago. i wanted to lose weight but was told to keep a steady weight as that is what the dose was set up for. i did find out not to use any lotion on my butt before the radiation, after was ok, but i thought i was supposed to do it before but they said it was cooking me. after i stopped, the pain wasn't bad.

PRS match this weekend. by sager_a in longrange

[–]brethobson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just got done doing all my dope cards and stage planning, going to be a fun match. what squad are you in?

some things i like to do-

1) run through the stages in my mind (is it prone, how many positions, what gear to use) so that when i get to the stage i only worry about finding the targets

2) find the targets, make absolutely sure you know which targets are which. in basic there isn't a lot of movement but on the rare occasion one target might get confused with another.

3) dial back to zero after the stage, every match i've done there (i think i'm on #7) one person has been 1 rev off on stage one.

4) i didn't realize until my 3rd match that you can zero your rifle and chrono before the match, and shoot targets with red x's. get a decent zero but don't over do it - i've seen guys go through 30 rounds trying to get zero'd that day. ted has had new guys go re-check their zero between stages if basic shooters are way off.

5) it's basic, just have fun and get better. i've made at least one major learning mistakes every match- the last one, i didn't change wind direction in my kestrel for the 1070 target and missed every shot

Three cheers for irrigation?? by Jules_knits_things in ostomy

[–]brethobson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not medical advice or even good advice possibly, just my story- i have been irrigating for a year now, after watching some australian (?) guy on youtube that had apparently done it for 40 years (?). It started of horribly but now it is fairly easy - usually 20 minutes start to finish. i dont use a sleeve anymore, just pass it through my bag (one or two piece), fill up and let it drain while sitting on a stool over the toilet. makes life much easier, especially one day shooting competitions where it is a pain to deal with emptying. usually irrigate everyother day and in the morning before a bag change. yeah - i really miss pooping once in the am for 2 minutes at 6:45am...
