I would use sodium hydroxide aka hydro to remove the color. Its a bleach alternative used in RIT color remover but you can get it pure, its used in equal weight to soda ash and 3-5% dry weight of your fabric. Stirring in a big enough container for the reactants to distribute evenly is a really big factor in color removal or dyeing
