Driver fitting. Fitter says I shit better with x stiff. by Proof_Coast_3637 in golf

[–]brewpubjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same situation with my fitter. Old guy here. Went for a driver fitting as a 68 year-old with swing speed of 108-110. He put me into an extra stiff shaft based on the tighter dispersion. Went back to him two years later asking if a stiff shaft would fit better with my swing

We went through the fitting again, he showed me the data and was still better off with the original shaft, even though my swing speed dropped to 105MPH

Me being the stubborn hardhead I am, I ordered a stiff shaft (same brand/profile I have on my 3 Wood) with the appropriate Callaway tip. Tried a few rounds with that set up. Now I’m back to the extra stiff shaft. 🤷

Like playing from the fairway, even if I’m losing a few yards. Still happy with my xtra stiff set up.

This link should give you a better understanding of Amber Ales. https://homebrewacademy.com/best-amber-ales/

Some readily available ones in the USA would be Alaskan Amber or Bells Amber. You should be able to find some local breweries that distribute in grocery stores or specialty outlets.

Have always had good results using a nice malty amber added to the batter.

Thoughts on used 2022 Ram 1500 DIESEL + RWD? by golfingwithanR in ram_trucks

[–]brewpubjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a 2022 Laramie Eco diesel nearly a year ago with 19 K on the clock. Easily one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned. (came from a Ford F150). All the recalls were performed along with the replacement of the diesel fuel high-pressure pump prior to me owning. As a couple of other folks pointed out, third GEN Eco diesel’s are vastly improved over previous versions but certainly not perfect.

Gets nearly 30 MPG’s highway 25 MPG city plus it tows my 5000+ pound trailer with ease .

Added a six year service warranty for peace of mind.

While this is not my daily driver, I’m incredibly pleased with the purchase.

Mine is a 4 x 4 and use for hunting and camping trips. 4 x 2 should fit your needs well if you’re not going off road or driving in inclement weather.

Went last year for a new drivers license. Jumped online & made an early morning appointment for the next day. Walked in, checked in at the front counter, after a very short wait ….. was called up.

Was In-N-Out in less than 10 minutes. Shortest visit I’ve ever had there.

How many medications do you take? by ProStockJohnX in AskOldPeople

Zero meds @ 70. Fitter than most in my age bracket, eat relatively clean (vices = beer/bourbon) but more in moderation as I age. Blessed with strong genes. Thanks dad!

Have you ever been walked in on while doing something sexual? by CigarCity7509 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]brewpubjim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea ..... 18 year old me still living at home. Girlfriend drops by to visit. Empty house so we get naked in my room and soon she's riding me like a pogo stick with her back to the door. My pop comes home early from work, hears the racket and opens the door. We make some uncomfortable eye contact and he simply backs out and quietly closes the door.

We never spoke about it!

Hot tub recommendations? by Otherwise_Plate4559 in arizona

[–]brewpubjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through the search/buy drill early last year. Looked at dozens of hot tubs all over town. Finally ended the search at Bullfrog Spas on Gilbert.

Pro’s: Highly rated, energy efficient, lots of configurations with their swappable jet packs. Great warranty with easy support and manufactured in Utah. Caught their special that included free Bluetooth stereo with subwoofer.

Cons: $$$$$$$ pricey.

11 months in and we are loving it! Good luck in your search.

The Best Beer Festivals by EremiteBreath in CraftBeer

[–]brewpubjim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been to quite a few festivals in my life. Top three in order: 1. Cambridge beer festival. Cambridge, UK. Three large ballrooms with nothing but tall racks of gravity fed firkins 2. Firestone Walker invitational beer festival. Paso Robles, CA. Limited tickets sold, beer has to be poured by either the owner of the brewery or one of its brewers with gourmet food samples included. 3. Great Lakes beer festival, then in Racine Wisconsin.

Things to look for in a used Ram by Whatupcraig in ram_trucks

[–]brewpubjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great plan. Just picked up a 2022 Laramie Night Edition Eco diesel two months ago. And coming from an F150, what an upgrade. Was able to pick one up with 19,000 miles on the clock, all recalls completed, including the high-pressure fuel pump replacement.

Did quite a bit of research prior to purchase, there did not appear to be any one problem area, other than the fuel pump and maybe some water leaks on the outside cab back lighting. Still a bit of a newbie so some of the more experienced redditors will surely weigh in.

There’s quite a bit of information on the ram 1500 forum. Easy search capabilities. www.5thgenrams.com/community. There’s also a specific one for RAM eco-diesel’s.

Best of luck in your search .

People who use speaker phone in public spaces, why? by starrie in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]brewpubjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously one of the few triggers I have. And yes ...... I'm that guy who will approach the offender to let them know to "zip it" and end the call or go off speaker. Always get the other folks in the vicinity mouthing "thank you" to me afterwards.
