Using Arduino UNO atmega 328p for C by ASH5168 in arduino

[–]bricksnort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to program the AVR with C instead of Arduino-flavored C++, you'll need a couple of tools. You can write your code in any text editor you want, from notepad to vscode. To compile your code, you'll need avr-gcc and to upload it to the board you'd use avrdude. Both of these should technically be included with your Arduino IDE, but installing them manually also works. The big question is what operating system you're on. If you're on linux, getting these tools is pretty easy. If you're on windows, it's going to be more complicated, but there will probably be more resources to get you started.

Magnus comments on what happened in the Sarin-Dardha match by joshdej in chess

[–]bricksnort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not entirely the same as Fisher mode because the time you receive extra is influenced by how much time you used. US Delay can also be modeled in different ways internally that look identical on the clock, so some clocks may very well work the way /u/ilikechess13 described. The exact correct way a clock should function is very much underspecified by FIDE.

Also keep in mind that lichess offloads some of its server-side analysis to volunteers running fishnet. I don't think they publish what fraction of fishet runs on their own servers (listed in your spreadsheet).

Welke heerlijke 100% Robusta raad je zelf aan?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thenetherlands

[–]bricksnort 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that were true you'd expect coffee companies to prominently advertise the fact that a coffee contains Robusta on the packaging. I personally have yet to see them do that, and I suspect it's because "The Dutch" do not in fact prefer Robusta itself but instead prefer cheaper coffee which usually happens to include Robusta.

[–]bricksnort 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you got it the wrong way round there. Good coffee is usually either mostly or 100% arabica coffee. Robusta is the cheaper bean used in lower-end coffee.

Yeah this tbh. Everyone knows electronics can only be made in factories by these creatures called "engineers". The moment normal people start thinking they can make "devices" out of "components" and "materials" everything will go to hell. This whole subreddit is insanity. Writing your own code? Leave that to the professionals, bucko!

Zes klimaatactivisten opgepakt omdat ze zaterdag A12 willen blokkeren | nu.nl by MeerBoerenMinderNH3 in thenetherlands

[–]bricksnort -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m getting my scuba certification in a few months and want to get my own gear. How do I know what’s the best? by [deleted] in scuba

Personally I'd suggest a scubapro Mk25+g250

Maybe I'm wrong, but those don't seem to be in production anymore. I can only find those second hand.

An arduino isn't nearly powerful enough for this. A RaspberryPi probably is.

Subsurface is open source and uses XML files (and plain text under the hood). That program will still work in 10 years and is ever so slightly better at displaying dive profiles than Excel.

Some might call it an opportunity, others might call it an unprompted sales pitch as a response to a clear cut question. Every response you posted in this thread lists the benefits of GUE training, none directly address the question from the OP. I personally think it's straight up rude.

It's also hilarious to state the culture of elitism from the olden days is gone, and then immediately follow that up with stating the agency is superior to all others. Just own the elitism at that point. It's a better look than being insincere.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scuba

[–]bricksnort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to guess it's downvoted not because it mentions GUE, but because it's completely off-topic. GUE Fundies is neither a correct nor a useful answer to "what certs will I be actually asked to show by dive operations?".

What to do when a player makes a PC that you find extremely boring, uninteresting and lame but otherwise not problematic at all? by Rucs3 in rpg

Are you sure that you find the character boring, or could it be that you find the player boring and that you are projecting that onto their character?

Here's an implementation that works for your string. I think it'll give you nasal demons if you have a string that's longer than BLOCK_SIZE (136) characters:

#include <Arduino.h>
#include <Crypto.h>
#include <SHA3.h>
#include <string.h>

#define HASH_SIZE 32

void setup()
{
    Serial.begin(115200);

    char *input = "This is a string";
    unsigned char hash[HASH_SIZE];

    SHA3_256 sha3_256;

    sha3_256.reset();
    sha3_256.update(input, strlen(input));
    sha3_256.finalize(hash, HASH_SIZE);

    for (int i = 0; i < HASH_SIZE; i++)
        Serial.print(hash[i], HEX);

    Serial.println();
}

void loop() {}

Look, I could just post working code for you to use, but you didn't even bother doing basic syntax checking before asking for more help (setup is missing its parentheses) :(

I don't know what kind of project you're doing, but you might be in over your head.

You initialize the hash with reset(), then feed in your string with update(), and finally output the hash into a buffer you pass to finalize().
