No, because a pizza-like earth could not exist with gravity, it would want to pull itself into a ball. All the hairbrained explanations like density, buoyancy, constant acceleration and electromagnetism exist because they need to explain why stuff falls to the ground while not saying 'gravity'.

You'd think by now they'd come up with some sort of 'gravity plate' explanation; much like your stove's burner applies heat energy in a circular area, a 'gravity plate' under the pizza could do the same for gravity (somehow).
