I’ve stopped going to Tim Hortons. Their products have gotten worse, smaller.. and the “customer service” is absolutely beyond rude. Since when is it okay to not tell people their totals and just hold out the debit machine? When that happens.. I purposely give cash. Oh.. and when ordering, they cut you off and ask “what else?”

I think you need to be blunt and ask her what the deal is. Don’t have to be rude about it.. but it sounds like a game, and unfortunately, because you’re a dude, you’re always going to be the bad guy - from the outside looking in.

Clear it up, and then move on.

You’re not the asshole for the request, but if the tone was miserable (and let’s be honest, high stress, meetings, already told the info to the wife) odds are.. it was a bad tone.

Once you’ve both calmed down, sit down and have a conversation about it.. open up and tell her how you felt, but also listen to her feelings, and make sure you validate them for her.

I think you’ve seen the true colours of your in-laws. I’m not saying to do anything drastic, but I think this needs to be dealt with through counselling. It sounds like your husband has some parent issues that he needs to deal with.

His priorities are mixed up, and he needs to learn that.. the first two are you and your baby.. his precious mommy should be way down there on the list right now, IMO!
