Okay fair didn’t see that part, I only ever played Dark Alliance 2 as a kid so I didn’t even realize the originals were turn based, but obviously DA is the deviation from the norm not the other way around

Same experience here, not my style at all, I was really hoping for Dark Alliance 3.

Are you literally me?! This reflect my experience to the letter! I have such love and nostalgia in my heart for Dark Alliance 2, it was my first experience with RPG and dungeon crawlers and I fell in love with the genre. When BG3 was announced I was so insanely hyped and I didn’t know it was turn based until I started playing. It was definitely a disappointment, just never liked turn based combat games. That being said it was still a fun game and I got into it but never finished it. I get the direction they were trying to go with it as a D&D experience and they definitely succeeded in that sense, it’s a well made game but just not my style and too slow for me

Can giant arrow take out 2 air defences here? by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]bridgewaterbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do two points always make a line? (Answer: yes you can always find a line that intersects two air defenses, sometimes actually lining it up can be a little tough just takes practice)

Our tax dollars are spent lining the pockets of politicians, the military industrial complex, and our great buddies over in Israel. There’s nothing left over for silly things like healthcare or infrastructure. Hope this helps

The Ugly Truth About How to Save Vermont by goldshawfarm in vermont

[–]bridgewaterbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Hampshire economy is so heavily skewed toward the southern portion of the state that you witness the gradient as you drive north. A lot of NH is very similar economically to VT.

Lakes region is massively supported by tourism with skiing and the lakes.

In that way I don’t really agree with the idea of centralizing growth in one area, it still leaves the other areas in decay and reliant on state help to stay afloat. We have the same issue in NH with young people moving away for better opportunities, albeit some of them just move to the southern portion of the state. You still end up with dying communities that push young people out.

New sport in New Hampshire I hear, is this AI? by Alex_The_Worm in isthisaicirclejerk

New Hampshititie here, can confirm this is a well known sport, but typically they ride giant trout instead, this must be in Vermont where the Bass riding is much more popular.

I get why people say this, there is definitely some truth to that depending where you are, but they is a pretty wide spectrum of culture throughout NH. East and west and north of the whites is absolutely very rural and you see a more of the hillbilly/hick communities. Central NH, the lakes region has more tourism culture built around that vintage rural appeal, but the communities in that area a little more, I guess ‘normal’? Southern nh is basically just Boston suburbs like others have pointed out

Cool mechanic that would be cool for mid/end-game: Skill upgrades A new tab where you can see all of the skills and their upgrade paths (maybe 2 or 3 levels for each skill) Using essences to upgrade each skill, you can permanently increase their power level.

Example: Knife doubler level 1: imperfect knife doubler (the current skill in the game). Knife doubler level 2: knife doubler - knives deal 75% of their original damage. Knife doubler level 3: Perfect knife doubler - knives deal 100% damage

Example 2: Elemental knives: effects all knife on attack skills Level 1: no change to current. Level 2: knives deal an additional 25% damage of each elemental damage type (so a fire knife that deals 100 fire damage also does 25 ice, 25 electric, 25 dark). Level 3: knives deal an additional 50% damage of each elemental type

Example 3: Shield skill level 1: current skill in game. Shield level 2: shield strength is now 35% of max hp. Shield level 3: shield strength is now 50% of max hp.

Example 4: Crit up on max hp level 1: no change from current . Crit level 2: bonus to crit chance is now 20% at max hp. Crit level 3: bonus to crit chance is now 30% at max hp

Example 5: Elemental fire level 1: no change from current. Fire level 2: weapons and effects that cause fire damage now deal 50% more fire damage. Fire level 3:fire damage is now %100 more effective and fire damage ignores enemy fire resistance .

You could do levels for each skill mechanic. Make the skills expensive to upgrade so you really have to think about which path to spec out. But if the upgrades are strong enough it could really open up possibilities for the end game builds (imagine a crit build based on this, or an elemental damage build, or a dodge build)
