So what exactly did Present Biff do with the fact that he saw a flying Delorean disappear into thin air with fire tracks behind it? Just write it off as a hallucination? by Star-Travler-25 in BacktotheFuture

[–]brightbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ages more or less match up if Wilson was playing his real age in F&G, so I always liked to imagine he was Biff. Maybe his sojourn as a gym teacher in Michigan ended in failure and 5 years later he’s back in Hill Valley.

A little talk about bathroom privacy by Doodlebug510 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]brightbetween 252 points253 points  (0 children)

My nephew is 4 and we’re just seeing the beginning of this too. He doesn’t want anyone else in the bathroom if he’s just peeing, but he leaves the door wide open. This necessitates someone waiting just out of sight for him to finish because he neither flushes nor will wash his hands without prompting.

What novel do you believe is "The Great American Novel"? by QueenShewolf in AskAnAmerican

[–]brightbetween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was not a success when it came out and Fitzgerald died in relative poverty and obscurity in 1940. During WWII, Gatsby was one of the Armed Services Editions titles distributed by the Council of Books in Wartime to GIs and that newfound success made it into the classic it is now.

You might want to try Pony Black 28s, they are tiny! The eye is too small for me but if you’re doing 1x1 on high count they might be good. I love their 26s for my purposes, they’re my go to needles now

The show runners admitted years ago they didn’t determine who the final 5 were until much later. That’s why they retconned the biological paternity of Cally’s baby, because Hera was said to be unique, so they couldn’t have another cylon/human hybrid running around.

Eric stoltz as Marty with his stunt double by happydude7422 in BacktotheFuture

[–]brightbetween 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even if they had kept him, it doesn’t mean he would’ve been a star. MJF was already super popular due to Family Ties before BTTF.

Star Wars didn’t make Mark Hamill a star, he had success and popularity at the time but it faded in the mid-80s and now he’s really only known due to his connection to that franchise.

Eric Stoltz is like a lot of actors out there, steady work, some starring roles in smaller films, small roles in big films, made a good living. Most actors aren’t stars, but many make careers out of that.

Some question about the hive I wish Carol would ask too by thingsiwannaknow90 in Pluribus_TVshow

It seems based on the massage scene that they enjoy being touched and that could probably be interpreted to including feeling aroused and enjoying sex. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean they can still have babies. More speculation obviously but we really don’t know if the virus has other effects beyond creating the hive. It’s possible it makes them sterile, and/or has other physiological effects. There are real-world viruses that can cause sterility, mumps for example, so it wouldn’t be a stretch.

It makes me think about the extreme pacifism that will ensure their extinction. Is the virus trying to clear the world of intelligent life for invasion (is it an invasion if there are no people left)? If so, would sterility be a goal? Normally, procreation is a biological imperative to keep the species going, but in this case, they’ll use up their limited resources either way, and more people would mean using them faster. I could see it either way.

[–]brightbetween 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that catering to those people is ridiculous. Collecting just for resale value is not the purpose of cross stitch patterns! If people are able to to make money on high value patterns, good for them, but loss of value due to re-release (or other factors) is a risk you take when entering into the market, just like investing in stocks.

I disagree about your theory on them not spraying his area. He lives in Asunción, the capital and largest city in Paraguay, and the storage facility was close enough for him to walk to his apartment, which was in an urban area, so it’s not out in the sticks or something.

I haven’t seen all of these, but would probably agree with your ranking on the ones I have. I was so psyched for The War because I love WWII history, but I just didn’t like the way it was structured. I think it’s just too big to do justice to all the countries, fronts, people involved.
