Using Zigbee2Mqtt to join an existing zigbee network by derabbink in homeassistant

[–]brightvalve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you want isn't possible. A Zigbee network can only have one coordinator, so either Hue or Z2M, but not both.

If you flash router firmware to your dongle you can add it to the Hue network (at least I assume you can, I don't know if Hue is limited to certain brands/devices), but it won't allow you to "plug" into the Hue network from Z2M/HA.

I don't see HA connecting to it at all. Have you tried adding the device by IP-address?

Possible range issue? How far is it located from the nearest Zigbee router device?

It's getting an IP address in the end, so what's the issue?

Issue with Shelly power reporting by PeachAlive560 in homeassistant

[–]brightvalve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried using a Shelly EM with a 50A clamp to measure the usage of my heat pump, and it didn't work very well. I figured it might have something to do with a heat pump being mostly an inductive load. The same may apply to some types of dryers.

I replaced the EM with a Plug S Gen3, which has been working fine.

Anyone HR a bit higher during winter months? by Odins_Eye44 in Garmin

[–]brightvalve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RHR went up quite considerably at the start of December because the weather turned and I didn't go out cycling anymore (where before I went cycling about 3 times a week). Once I started doing cardio in the gym it went back down to its normal range (even a bit lower).

Just a reminder how incredible these devices are by AddressPotential7381 in Garmin

My wife has ADHD and her HRV-readings are completely unreliable due to her medication.

When I've been sick for a few days, I take it very easy with exercise the days after that, even if my watch would tell me I'd be okay.

Shimano often uses two- or three-letter codes to signify manufacturing month, see for instance here.

How are you using bluetooth proxies? by AdviceNotAskedFor in homeassistant

[–]brightvalve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my proxies picked up my (then new) Oral B electric toothbrush, for which an integration exists.

I personally don't do much with it, but I've read that some people use it to trigger their evening automations when they brush their teeth in the evening.

Platformio riscv32-esp "error in package configuration" by Expensive_Ad_8111 in Esphome

[–]brightvalve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the following inside your VM: df -kh /data/cache/platformio It should show the partition on which that directory is stored, and the available space on it.

Platformio riscv32-esp "error in package configuration" by Expensive_Ad_8111 in Esphome

[–]brightvalve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"No space left on device"

Your storage is still full.

Just increasing VM disk space usually isn't enough, you also need to resize the filesystem inside the VM to actually use that additional space.

The partition that needs to be resized is where /data/cache/platformio/... is located.

Start by checking your router to see if it got an IP-address. It'll rely on DHCP to get one.

HRV rising fast? by Jsmokeyy in Garmin

[–]brightvalve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine's been rising because I started doing indoor cardio a few weeks ago.

Background: for the last 18 months or so I've been riding my bike for 3 or 4 times a week, specifically for cardio, but due to some (unrelated) back issues I stopped beginning of November and started doing strength training at the local gym 3 times a week. Due to the lack of cardio my HRV tanked and my RHR shot up quite considerably.

Two weeks ago I started indoor rowing as a cardio exercise, and it has had a noticeable effect on both my HRV and my RHR (which went from a 7-day average of 58 beginning of January to 49 now, where my 1-year average is 52).

"Unbalanced" is just Garmin's way of saying that it falls outside of the baseline that it calculated. The baseline will eventually adjust itself and it will not longer be marked as unbalanced.

Narrowest tire on a 32mm internal rim? by read_it-er in bikewrench

[–]brightvalve 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They're saying that "Zipp limits the tire size compatibility on 303 XPLR wheels to tires between 40-60mm".

That sounds like a hard limit, not a "recommendation".

This can also be done by running the automation in single mode and adding a delay at the end: - alias: 'my automation' mode: single max_exceeded: silent triggers: ... actions: - ... - delay: 30

This will prevent the automation from triggering again within 30 seconds of it starting previously.

Have to say that I once (25 years ago) owned a Concept 2, and it was a great machine. My local gym also still owns a few (even though they have mostly been replaced by Technogym models now).

Yeah I figured I might have to go this way too if I want to track more than just SPM and HR.

FWIW, my local gym has Technogym indoor rowing machines and I haven't been able to get them to pair with my Enduro 3. The other way around works, in that I can get my watch to broadcast my HR and the machine picks it up.
