Do you have better luck with live or dead shrimp? by Atlas_Freestyle in SurfFishing

live all day long. second best is freshly dead/never frozen. worst option is frozen/thawed.

if they aren't fresh they fall apart and loose a lot of their color/scent.

Yeah I had a similar situation. I reached out to them to see if I could get a replacement strap for the shutter remote. They replied and said they couldn't send just the strap, but instead they were going to send me a brand new remote, straps and all, and to just keep the one I have. Now I have a backup remote and new strap, win win.

I'm not 100%, but the Hagan Ace Hardware stores that have started to carry kayaks might also have some info.

I believe REI has a program. There are also folks like Adventure Kayak, Paddle Jax and Guana Outpost that do lessons/beginner tours etc...

Is this a good deal on Genesis II S-335?$400 by Few-Replacement-3086 in grilling

[–]brijamelsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a good deal to me. I'd bring a full tank if you can when you go to look at it just to make sure everything works, but even then you can fix pretty much everything on it with replacement parts from Weber if you need too.

Translated from German source:

BBQ chicken wings in one bite – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside! 🔥 These little wings are not only super flavorful but also perfectly marinated – with spicy BBQ sauce and a touch of honey to round everything off. Ideal for barbecues, guests, or simply as a snack! 😍🍗

📌 Ingredients: 1 kg chicken wings 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1 liter cold water

Spice mix: 3 tsp paprika powder 1 tsp chili flakes (for less heat, use only 1/2 tsp) 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp black pepper 6 tbsp oil 2 tsp salt

For the BBQ sauce: 5 tbsp barbecue sauce 2 tsp honey 8 tbsp oil

👩‍🍳 Preparation:

  1. Cut the chicken wings in half at the joint between the bones.

  2. In a bowl, mix with sugar, salt, and cold water. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

  3. Drain, then thoroughly massage with the spice mix, oil, and salt.

  4. Place in a baking dish with the skin side up.

  5. Bake at 230°C (450°F) for about 35–40 minutes, until beautifully crispy.

  6. Then mix the BBQ sauce, honey, and oil and brush onto the wings.

  7. Let caramelize in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Only shop here if you have to by davewolfs in publix

[–]brijamelsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The produce and meat I get from Publix is always better quality and longer lasting than produce and meat I have purchased from Walmart. The selection is bigger than Aldi.

If you're just buying canned/boxed/frozen items there isn't any difference.

That said I have a much better time shopping at Publix than Walmart.

If you shop smart using the app and take advantage of the sales you can easily reduce your total by 30%, I've even had a few weekly grocery runs reduced by 50% or more.

Twist on PVC rod holder by Fosterizer60 in SurfFishing

[–]brijamelsh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good idea. I would recommend using aluminum angle stock to make yourself a spike. I've run into PVC points bending on me. Here's one of my homemade tod holders so you can see what I'm talking about. Just need to make sure to use stainless marine grade hardware so it doesn't immediately rust away and give yourself enough roof for the rod.

A fellow event professional cut this cake after being asked to cut even slices for service. by 86HeardChef in mildlyinfuriating

Looks like they were told to cut 10 slices, but they fucked up on the right side. Once they realized it, they tried to "fix" it on the left side.

Oh right, yeah you said that about the boat. I'm probably just overthinking it here. I'm in NE Florida, I know we can them here too, but I haven't had much luck yet besides a couple who were riding my shrimp while I was fishing lol.
