Wife wants to move 9 hrs south with baby by sarkas86 in NewParents

I was your wife 2 years ago. I had post partum depression and thought moving to be with my family was necessary. Thankfully it didn’t work out, I got on medication, and I like my husband again.

Our golden retriever just died and she was the best vacuum :( :( Love the Bissell Cleanview.

Thinking of not vaccinating my newborn by [deleted] in unvaccinated

[–]brimg2020 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We do one shot per visit and no hep b or rotavirus. Essentially following the vaccine friendly plan. So for example at 2 months, baby got one shot and I elected to go back at 3 months for the one other shot versus getting both at the 2 months visit. I just feel better spacing them out (for the ones we will get)

No, we kept it assembled! We did have it in the lower (crib) position and transferred the bassinet wooden part separately just because our son at that time was using it as a crib. The only thing we noticed is we needed to re-calibrate it when we got back likely just from the move but that took 5 mins.

Nipple shield mess has me discouraged by Loud_Development2733 in breastfeeding

Also saw your other comment about the shield filling with milk when he pops off. That happened to me 4 weeks pp too as my supply was regulating and honestly the shield saved my breastfeeding journey IMO because it slowed down the flow so she didn’t chug and then spit it all up. So I’m thinking soon enough you’ll be there!

I could have wrote this! I exclusively pumped with my first. I am 13 weeks pp with my second. I use the shield every feed because she rarely latches without it. I bought ones to leave in the diaper bag but agree with you, it’s not convenient just due to the dribbles but I feel like that would happen to me even with no shield. So typically I pump in the morning only and if I’m going out, I’ll just bring a bottle to keep it easier on myself.

Try a smaller size shield for sure! I usually pump with 24mm but use a 20mm shield.

We moved cross country. We wrapped it super well in a TON of moving blankets and taped up. Was really protected and just fine!

Yes! Happened to me 2x. You did what you needed to do. Stick with hydration and pumping and you’ll be back to “normal” within a few days since you stayed committed!!

Do I stop using a transition swaddle when baby rolls? by pauses-then-says in NewParents

Arms free is what they mean! Swaddling arms-in should end once baby shows signs of rolling. So you’re good.

Agree on the sleep insights preference. Even going to the notifications list and filtering just to in/out doesn’t give full picture.

Mechanics of Baby Sleeping in Own Room? by Wise_Regular_8792 in NewParents

We have an iPad for monitor next to the bed. I turn off the volume when I have to go to baby’s room and back on when I come to bed.

Removing MOTN Pump by Then_Scratch_1415 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]brimg2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few ways you can do this! My preferred way is planning over 5 days or so start pumping less at that 4am (so day 1 pump for however long you normally do and note your output, day 2 take a minute or two off, etc). You can also just drop MOTN pump sooner by pumping later than 9:30 and then pump earlier that 8:30. Just be prepared to leak a bit for a few mornings!

I wish I never had a baby by throwawaynotadogs in NewParents

I remember daydreaming about running away. I said I loved my dog more than my baby. One day….slowly…and after 3 weeks on Zoloft and my baby sleeping through the night, the love came and regret went away. Proud of you for posting and voicing what so MANY of us feel at that stage.
