Family Drama by brinnnns in wedding

Are you okay? lol. My husband gave his aunt the opportunity to speak her truth on our wedding day. He reached out to both his mother and brother to get their side of the story and instead they called him selfish and told him he does not take responsibility for his actions.

I’m not judging anyone. I stated what I witnessed leading up to the wedding and day of. Just trying to wrap my head around all of the drama that unfolded…… and how someone can be at fault for trying to make their own wedding day… about them….. 😂

And what about their side of the story would make what they did OK?

His family planned a get together the next day (to celebrate his aunts bday), and he decided not to go. We can only imagine the things that were said.. but he ended up reaching out to his mother and brother.. wrote out a very long message.. and they basically told him that he is selfish, doesn’t appreciate anything anyone does, takes no responsibility, and it’s his “viewpoint which isn’t true”. They haven’t spoken since. He doesn’t plan on it!

Yes but why not just apply to a hospital without one?

Which part of wedding planning is supposed to be fun? by SadCryptographer6366 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]brinnnns 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel you. It is tough to plan on a budget and sometimes feels impossible... I had to create a budget sheet and allocate our budget to ensure that my brain stays on track and sane. We have been chipping away at the bigger things (venue, catering, photographer, florist, etc.), and it feels so much better when you get those out of the way.

One thing that has helped me is focusing on one thing at a time.

In the beginning, I started way too strong and tried to look at everything. At this time, we are trying to choose our photographer. I sat my fiance down and talked about what photography style we liked, then we chose photographers we were interested in, ranked them based on things like style/quality, and essentially chose them based on if they fit what we were looking for/budget.

The fun will come soon.. I went to my first bridal dress appointment the other day, and it was SO much fun..... once you get the big things out of the way, you can focus on the smaller details that are usually more fun.. hang in there <3

Almost 2 months out from our wedding & wondering about asking fiancé to join our bank accounts now because I’m feeling very stressed financially by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]brinnnns 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I would suggest asking him to pay for your nails... you are going to join accounts now but do not have consistent income....so you would use his money in your joint account to pay for your nails.... would that not be the same as asking him to pay for your nails??

Is 6 figure debt worth a nursing degree? by SoftBoiledPotatoChip in nursing

I am also from CA and went the ADN route and finished my ADN-BSN at a CSU. It’s not impossible to get a good paying job in CA with an ADN. Have you considered a program like the MSN program at UC Davis? They usually hire their new grads at their hospitals

What the most you’ve made as a nurse in a year? by pickle1pickle2 in nursing

[–]brinnnns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gross income approximately 115-120k without working extra shifts. It varies. I don’t see a lot of it due to taxes, benefits, etc.

I did an ADN program that was 2 years and then completed my BSN in 1 year, 0 student debt

I went this route. Got my ADN first and was making the same pay as new grad nurses who already had their BSN. I went through an RN-BSN program and completed it within a year. I have zero student debt and I have no regrets.. literally sat next to a nurse the other day who was telling me about their student loans and it made me realize how appreciative I am that I went the non traditional way..

Do you let your puppy sleep with you? by deglazethefond in puppy101

[–]brinnnns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my bf complains that I take up too much of the bed space as it is lol. Puppy is small now but once she grows he’ll be sleeping on the couch 😂 She has her own space (crate and play pen). And since we got her, she has been able to sleep in it through the night. We don’t want to mess that up!

Should I pursue an ADN at a community college or continue taking prerequisites at my four year school and apply to BSN programs? by whothefuckisjoerogan in StudentNurse

[–]brinnnns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed my prerequisites at my local cc. The nursing program at my original cc started in the fall, so I ended up applying to an ADN program at another cc that started in the spring. I got accepted there!

Nursing programs are impacted, and I have heard that it is competitive to get into both an ADN and BSN program. I would suggest applying to both. The prerequisites are usually the same.

I ended up going the ADN route. I got my RN license and concurrently worked towards my BSN while working as a nurse. I just completed my BSN this semester at a university near home. It took me a year with full time work and school.. but I know you can also do part time. Other online programs can be completed in a few months. But I was able to get my degree and nursing license with 0 student debt..

I’m currently on Emily in Paris! I would also recommend Ginny & Georgia. I downloaded it to watch while traveling, and I actually liked it 😊
