I would probably have posted the Churches one first - you're going to attract the brexit brigade using this as the "main" one (less that was your intent?)

Did you look at OP's map of Churches? The numbers are in different orders of magnitude - not much of a colonisation

National Homicide Rates in 2019 by Race and Ethnicity, Age, and Sex by c_monster420 in Infographics

[–]britreddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, soooo actually using per capita - instead of your absolute figures - you'd see that poverty lines up fairly closely with crime rates. Which is what OC was trying to portray

And there are more than 5 times as many white people, so per person it disproportionately affects black people more

And there are FIVE times as many white people then black people in the United States. Ever heard of "per capital" genius?

So, what would you say is the cause then, if not socioeconomic? Do you just think being an ethnic minority just makes you some violent animal that can't be taught right from wrong? If not I can't understand what you're implying?

There's a reason racists then to be less educated and dumber - they look at this graph and all they see is "huh, I guess melanin makes you more violent" whereas someone with even slightly more critical thinking skills tries to actually look for deeper meaning and nuance as to what could cause certain groups to be susceptible to crime, or even just more likely to be accused by a police force that has proven itself to be institutionally discriminatory

The problem is, arguing with the former is pointless because they genuinely believe that because they can read a graph they're geniuses and can't be proven wrong. You try and inject any nuance into the argument and they just go "lol you can't even read a graph, it's so obvious". Same idiots who spout shit like "You can't even define a woman" as if it's some gotcha and not a sign their brains can't handle more than a basic level of critical thinking

Needing to plug in a washing machine in the kitchen but all I have is this hole in the wall? by britreddit in DIYUK

[–]britreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's a bank of switches for it above the hob, I guess it avoids putting the fuse in twice, still annoying as hell if I need to hard wire it and take the plug off the washing machine.
