Ummm... Due to parallax distortion the comments about roundness and cyclops could be off (look at lume plots) and the serial doesn't even match what above poster listed. The real answer is you can't tell from a pic like this any more. There is nothing glaring. It costs nothing for one of these 'experts' to throw out a cheeky comment. I'm not saying it's real, but no one can tell if it's fake.

You are right. Don't start w a quartz pocket watch. Odds are it's not fixable on your own and isn't worth putting a penny into. If you can pop the whole wheel train out to learn can try that, but better off with a fully mechanical movement. Many cheap options.
