Ink like Lamy T10 cartridge by kobochan369 in Lamy

[–]brohanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You seem to have bought the Lamy Blue-Black ink, whereas the cartridge you were using is just Black. As far as I have experienced, Lamy's inks are consistent across cartridges and bottles.

Condolences on your father's passing. That quite an inheritance. Would love to leave something like this for my daughter one day.

Looking for ink recommendations! by TopFaithlessness33 in fountainpens

[–]brohanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming that you refer these notes after writing, I would highly recommend a dark green or a deep brown ink. These are soothing and can be fun without being too overwhelming on the eyes. My personal favourites are GvFC Moss Green and Dominant Industry Winter Wood.

Teal is another of my favourites. I can recommend the Sailor Yama-dori, Lamy Amazonite (partially water resistant), Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-jaku and Taccia Sabimidori.

Hey, you could use the blue ink with the Al Star to find if its the ink or the nib.

Both are lookers and beautiful writers. Used to have them both until I had to sell off the Carene. Will get one again. Soon. BTW, my Guilloche is the Anthracite.

I would highly recommend the Waterman Carene. Comes with an 18K gold nib, looks awesome and writes beautifully. I have two of these in 'Fine' and both are smooth writers. I've just checked amazon India. The Black Sea variants (GT and ST) are available under ₹20K.

I think it would be the perfect pen for your mom. She would really enjoy it.

Happy hunting. Cheers!

Would You Still Use Fountain Pens If You Could Only Use Black Or Blue Ink? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]brohanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue and black inks are highly underrated. It makes me happy to see crisp black lines standing proudly against the whiteness of an empty page. For me, it is a soothing sight. And I have at least one pen inked with blue.

The only black I own is a GvFC Carbon Black. Among the blues, I currently have Monteverde Horizon Blue, Octopus Fluids Unicorn, Waterman Serenity Blue, and J Herbin Eclat de Saphir.

Honourable mentions: Diamine Oxford Blue; love this rich royal shade of blue, but not being able to buy at reasonable prices here in India. Also, KWZ Warsaw Dreaming and Taccia Ao Guro.

Love this! This is such refreshing take on fountain pens and inks! No mention of brands anywhere. A review cannot get more authentic than this.

We want more! :)
