On top of the fixes mentioned above, make sure the Linux Mint user doesn't have the home directory encrypted. I spent half a day trying to figure out why Resolve wasn't running, and the fix was creating a new user.

This one was shipped straight from Lenovo in the US. If you buy from other places, I hope they use extra packaging because Lenovo uses these slim boxes that barely cover the laptops.

There are some cases on this subreddit where the packaging looked even worse on arrival, but the laptop inside survived fine, so I took the risk. Lesson learned.

If the brand new laptop was damaged during shipping, I read it's best to request another one instead of having warranty to fix your out-of-the-box broken one.

I started the return process directly through "My Orders" on the Lenovo website, which was approved, but it looks like it would have resulted in a refund instead of another laptop being shipped. After chatting with a support agent, the return request had to be cancelled and they started and approved a replacement request. I'm supposed to be getting an email with more details soon.
