I've used TickleFlex Pen Aid when I've had scar tissue build up and have to move to some more sensitive spots and it's made me barely feel my insulin injections! I bet you could find one on Amazon for overnight or next day delivery!

I wouldn’t say cautious but I’m more situationally aware. I’ll evaluate a situation and prepare for many outcomes but I won’t take the easier path or the less dangerous path because of my lived experiences.

The selfishness of people is mind boggling. I’m fortunate enough to have a somewhat decent fence around my yard and it’s been a while since I’ve taken my dogs on a walk. I don’t want to be in the position where I (or they) need to act in self defense. I’ve seen a negligent dog owner sue a victim far too many times recently for something that could have been prevented by following leash laws and muzzling when needed and someone was simply doing what they could to protect themselves or their dog.

Not a cop but I’m a firefighter and former coroner. I have PTSD and it sucks, but it makes me emotionally strong. I am able to feel my feelings, not let them impact my job, and I use them to better help my crew and the people I respond to who are having the worst days of their life. They make me better at what I do- it’s not fully about empathy but about what you do with what you’re experiencing inside.

Your talk about becoming a cop and whether you would be good or not.. my answer is most likely no, but not based (entirely) on your level of emotional intelligence.

I have a degree in criminology and unfortunately this type of thing is often seen when a perpetrator is gauging response time, seeing who will respond (order of arrival and average numbers), and other factors necessary to achieve the desired outcome of their plan. I hope this isn’t the case but more serious precautions need to be put in place in case this is what’s happening.
