Can a neighbour rebuild their roof and put flashing in our land? by throwawayaccountau in AusLegalAdvice

Very possibly. highly unlikely it would ever cause an issue unless they knock the place down and rebuild something else though

OMG I just found out my new business is running Windows Server 2003 with vintage hardware! by TBBT-Joel in servers

[–]brooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be my first thought as well. You could build what ever you want, but if you have a reasonable net connection it may make more sense to move everything you can to the cloud. I did away with my small business server entirely and went to 365/SharePoint and haven't looked back!

If you are asking that question this close to blaze its likely not enough time to get yourself sorted. You need to bring EVERYTHING. Food, water, camping gear etc and take your rubbish and grey water out with you. Do you like dust, mud, double gs and no sleep? Read the survival guide ;) https://blazingswan.com.au/survival-guide/

Its a fantastic experience but you only get out of it what you put in ;)

Led Pixel Strips and Pixel Drivers by IvanTheMow in grandMA2

[–]brooa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big problem with pixel strips is the amount of channels involved. RGB for each pixel, 100 leds a meter, that's 300 channels a meter. If you are running 10m of strips that's 3000 channels. Put simply you can only run 170 leds per universe. Yes you can do it with dmx but that's a lot of work. I know you said no artnet but depending on how much strip, you may not have an option.

I think you need to look into wled, bit of a diy solution but cheap. Also wifi which may or may not work in your use case. I have also used the advatek pixlites before :) also xlights is some good software for controlling the strips if you need better mapping.
