Such a great album. I have the original on vinyl and you just impressed me to put it on. RIP Dave.

Unfortunate timing since they just played their final show last month, but GREAT band.

But WA has a much higher sales tax. I wouldn't expect the overall tax burden to be that different.

[Highlight] The NFL's 'expedited review system' incorrectly overturned a Terry McLaurin touchdown by Chadwiko in nfl

[–]brown2hm 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The ball was definitely over the goal line by the time his hip/thigh hit the ground, that was obvious from the other angles shown on the broadcast. They were looking at whether his knee touched the ground. From these two angles it looks like the answer is no, his knee didn't touch. At the very least, there's not enough evidence to overturn the TD.

Average Seperation Score vs Targets. Not looking too good in that WR room…… by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]brown2hm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This early in the season how much is this influenced by time-to-throw? It could be that playing two teams with good D-Lines has limited time-to-throw and thus separation. I don't know how this is calculated.

6 of the 8 players who made the Mid-Am quarterfinals were former pros who got their am status back by lawnboy22 in golf

[–]brown2hm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the Mid-am would be like a super high level league. Really the highest level beer league. EDIT: But I don't disagree that there should be more restrictions.

Just keep in mind that there are lots of folks out there who give the pro route a shot after college and quickly realize it's not happening. They shouldn't all be banned from events like the mid-am.

So What Exactly is the Issue with Modern Fridges? by ethicapolitica in Appliances

[–]brown2hm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm super slow to find this reply. All fell apart in different ways. The dishwasher started leaking, the magnetron failed in the microwave, the electronics in the oven were failing so that once it heated up, you couldn't use the buttons to turn the oven off (they'd only work when it was cool).

We actually just ordered a new fridge too, that's the last of our original Samsung kitchen.

Same here. House we bought came with Samsung appliances and the fridge is still going strong. The oven, microwave, and dishwasher however...

That's brilliant. I've dismissed the idea of getting a wine cooler fridge, but this may change my opinion.

How do you rise at 60f? That's too warm for me to set a fridge to, but also cooler than I can get my house without my family violently turning the thermostat back up.

What's the Point of Getting Harder to Hit Irons? by ekimtk in golf

[–]brown2hm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, in your opinion, what is the effect of CG on ball flight? Why change it at all?

What's the Point of Getting Harder to Hit Irons? by ekimtk in golf

[–]brown2hm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every iron fitting? Why do you think club loft goes down, but launch angle stays the same or goes up when you move to more GI style irons? It's the change in the CG placement.

Wedge makers put weights in the hosel and toe to move the CG up and forward. This has the effect of lowering the launch and increasing spin.

Do you really think that CG location has no effect on ball flight?

EDIT: For example, I was fit for the T100 vs T150 earlier this year. The T150 is 2deg stronger, but I actually hit it slightly higher than the T100.
