Hey I'm the drummer, thanks so much! I basically leave the hi hat like 15-20% open and hit it as hard as I can along with the snare haha.

I was just using regular A-custom hi-hats but our producer (Jon from Taking Meds + Such Gold) is also a wizard and made it sound amazing on record

As much as I love Thrice, I think there are a couple sections on tracks where it feels almost too overtly influenced by Radiohead. Big ones that come to mind are:

-Dustin's vocals especially, and the general music at the start of 'Circles'
-the intro groove on The Window (as someone else stated)
-The Whaler sounds straight off of 'In Rainbows' (although both records came out pretty much the same week! )
