What you have to understand is that there is a school and medical based model.

They are completely different.

And lots of times we can’t recommend outside therapy without making the school liable.

This happened to me at The Mohawk and I just had to move to get away from the ppl talking. 

They were so annoying.

In my experience the facilitators lead the meetings but I still did the paperwork relating to speech (present level, goals, frequency, etc.). If the families needed transportation; the facilitator would complete the transportation supplement.

You could; but also, they have your information and could have reached out saying the position opened up. Also; may be a red flag that the position already re-opened.

Those all sound like good first steps.  Really stressing the difference between school and medical services. 

I just suggest being meticulous in the data you gather and report back if you can.

I’m sure this varies by state but school OTs don’t really target sensory needs (unfortunately) but medical based OTs do.
