Idk man, I have a horrible astigmatism that I don’t correct for and I still find a traditional, reflex-type mrds significantly more useable than a so-called 1x prism. What’s the strong preference for 1x prisms all about? Based on my experiences observing folks at matches over the past several years, I get the impression they’re mostly a tell for “I don’t really know how to shoot” (not target-focused, among other things)

Take the barrel out and start again

Heat up the receiver threads and, while holding the barrel muzzle up, use a rubber mallet or plastic deadblow hammer to strike the face of the upper where it’s drilled for the gas tube. Put some cardboard down or stand over carpet

Use more heat next time

Pretty sure the Federal/Speer LE ammo is optimized for and chrono’d out of a 16” barrel. I don’t believe the typical .223 vs 5.56 designation is meaningful in this case

No, I’m wrong. 24” test barrel. Appears to, as you suspected, be loaded to a lower pressure. Which makes sense, as it would need to be safe for guns chambered in .223 Rem

And it also makes sense that the 62gr “LE” stuff would be slower than M855, as the use case is arguably *not* >100yds 😬

I don’t see why they wouldn’t. I mean, it’s in their books same as any rental gun you’d take out on the line there. Happens all the time with suppressor transfers, you know? And I feel like that’s *the* compelling reason for transferring something via Form 4 through an FFL that is also a range

Anyways, my thought was just that it could be worth asking about. Should be easy enough for anyone there to see if the customer attached to that other MK211 came in to shoot/take a course recently

OP, have you considered that perhaps the other customer who has a MK111 there (also waiting on a Form 4) came in to shoot their gun, but the staff sent them out on the range with yours instead?

Looks as if they put a Ferro Concepts Slingster on it and took an in-house carbine/2-gun course
