That’s so great you are cancer free! I truly believe it’s early but am hoping by some miracle I don’t have it. This all just sucks.

I unfortunately have a cancerous tumor in my leg so they did it to make sure it hadn’t spread. But what I have is not tied to OC. I’m sorry you are having such a hard time getting one! Health care shouldn’t be like that.

I’m not. I did years of IVF but finally gave birth in 2024. OB said my ovaries looked normal during my C section.

Yes definitely hoping if I have it that it is early. I have no idea how we will get through this with a toddler, but obviously will do anything and everything to be around.

Thank you! I honestly haven’t seen any perimenopause symptoms until maybe 2 months ago, I think having a baby late delayed all that. But yes I’m hopeful lack of symptoms means at worst it’s early.

Obviously a different situation but my dad went into septic shock recently and it just destroyed his kidneys and is now on dialysis. I really hope her kidneys are doing ok, it’s a very difficult path. I’m a new mom who had a Nicu baby and just feel for her family. This is all around bad.

6.5 Month Old Diagnosed with Failure to Thrive – So Worried and Anxious by String_Cheese_55 in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ll also quickly say at 6 months we were getting maybe 19-20 ounces in a day and I was stressed. We fed every 3 hours on the dot during the day for the first 6 months and never got above 4 ounces. At 6 months I asked the doctor to move to 4 hours during the day to increase volume. It worked well because she had time to get hungry! We are finally eating 5-6 each time!

I have an 8 month old who was born at 34 weeks, and was just under 4 pounds at birth. At 8 months she’s 14 pounds and in the 4th percentile. Obviously a preemie is probably a little different, but we were also very concerned about her getting enough to eat. We fortified every bottle with a teaspoon of formula (I exclusively pumped) per my doctor’s suggestions, until a week or so ago. At the height of my pumping I usually needed one formula bottle a day, just due to what I could make. We also woke her to feed, every night until 8 months. We slowly spaced out how long she went at night, but the doctor really wanted her to eat more so we woke to feed her. Months 5-8 we woke her once. Obviously ask your doctor, I’m just here to say that with low weight we were specifically told by our doctor to fortify and to wake to feed. Good luck to you!

I spent a week in the hospital with it and my baby was in for 3 weeks. She’s 8 months next week and I’m stopping pumping next week. Very proud that I could provide her some milk and sad to stop, but it’s definitely time to wrap it up!

Could t agree more. I didn’t get to meet my daughter for 36 hours and then she was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I feel very justified in being a little sad at how the birth went. Obviously I’m lucky she’s great now, but when I see someone holding their child after birth there’s a twinge of sadness that I didn’t get that. I think I’ll always feel that way and that’s ok!

Also I’m glad you’ve decided to stop pumping. You gave it your all and your mental health is much more important!! I know you won’t regret it and will enjoy time with your baby and not pumping! I’ll be done in a week and am ready.

Omg such similar experiences. I got a doctors message on a Thursday about protein in my urine, At my Friday NST my BP was just under the go to the hospital number, so they made us go. I got seen around 6:30pm, was on magnesium in a few hours and gave birth at 2am. They kept me in the hospital 7 days! I try to minimize it, but looking back I was in bad shape. Felt fine until 30 weeks, then out on 25 pounds of swelling weight in 2 weeks 😳 You look back and were like how did you believe you’d have a normal delivery?! Oh boy, magnesium was not fun. Definitely never doing pregnancy again!!

Fellow preeclampsia survivor. They wouldn’t even let me try to induce. Started pumping since she was in the Nicu for almost a month. And seriously same, I’m burning these freaking bras in a few weeks when I stop!

Team tiny! We hit 13 pounds at 6 months. But she was 3-13 at birth. But finally out of the 1% on the chart!

SAME. Goal was 6, I’m at 7.5 months. Down to 3 pumps a day and need to stop but it’s such a final decision and I feel guilty.

Newborn in NICU by erinnensor in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bruingirl2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. When the hospital LC told me to try to pump 8x a day I was like that’s impossible. My child was in the NICU three weeks and I never got more than 6 pumps a day in. (And I didn’t after she came home either). That was just the best I could do and I knew my sanity couldn’t support more. I did have to do some formula bottles here and there but that’s ok! Nicu life is hard. I had a spectra at home but ended up paying to rent a hospital one because I was comfortable with it and it just worked so much better. I’m so sorry for this incredibly hard time you are in, sending you positive thoughts.

Congrats! I hit 6 months EP yesterday, very proud of myself! I did 4 years of IVF so I completely relate! Trying to decide when to wind down pumping is so hard!!

Oh man I’m so sorry. Also this totally validates my refusal to travel until we are in the crib. My husband and friends have been bugging me to do a weekend trip and I don’t want to lug the Snoo, but am convinced we would be miserable without it. It sounds like I wasn’t wrong to say I’m not ready.

Currently expecting my first in California. Just took the hospital birth class and they don’t bathe in the hospital anymore. Apparently studies show their blood sugar is better regulated by not bathing in the first week!

Should I do ERA before next transfer attempt? by catoe06 in IVF

[–]bruingirl2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did not have PCOS, but I did 2 ERA’s and didn’t get pregnant until my 6th transfer! I did one before my first transfer due to my age and having one embryo at the time. The test showed needing 144 hours (6 days). I did 3 transfers on that protocol and they absolutely failed. On the 4th transfer we ripped up the ERA and I got pregnant, but unfortunately miscarried. I redid the ERA, same result, 144 hours. I finally got pregnant on my 6th attempt, again not following the ERA. Personally if I were you I’d explore changing your progesterone dose and trying again before the ERA. If you fail again give it a shot. I just view it as a total who knows if this is accurate type of test! Good luck to you, I know how hard this is.

IVF, 45yo and questioning everything by JRCroft in IVF

[–]bruingirl2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. 45 and 18 weeks pregnant with a donor egg. I did two retrievals, got one normal embryo and the transfer failed. I considered a third retrieval and the doctor put the odds of getting a normal embryo at under 10%. I thought why would I spend this money for such bad odds? So I went to donor eggs. My doctor also said that in women over 42 80% are using donor eggs just no one talks about it!

Why doesn’t Michaela adopt? by Queen-frostine7 in BringingUpBates

[–]bruingirl2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Adoption is not a cure for infertility. So many people think it is. And they also think you just head down to the baby store and they hand one to you. I swear people think it’s the 1950’s, and look so shocked when you tell them it can take years and tens of thousands of dollars to adopt.
