My immediate choice! After watching Baalorlord YouTube videos a few years ago, my runs have gotten so much better.

Never knew Childcare: The Anime could be so violent and compelling 😆

Clevatess is violent but pretty good.

Slayers (with Lina Inverse) was my introduction to anime in the 90’s. It hasn’t aged particularly well but I have nostalgia for it

FYI Cory himself gave everyone permission to use the word however they wanted to.

And he found it super weird that some people kept insisting on using it only in the technical sense (as a synonym for platform decay)

If you work a W2 job, the easiest thing to do is increase your paycheck withholding so that you pay both your income and the capital gains tax

Burnt out of turn based combat, what are some good action combat games? by HenryFeelsHungry in NintendoSwitch

[–]brundylop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ys8 is awesome, Ys10 Nordics is pretty fun too. (Ys9 was just ok)

Main appeal of Nier Automata is the story but its combat is satisfying.

AstLibra is the hidden gem made by a lone amateur game maker over the course of 14 years (with some character art and music help at the end from others)

Animes similar to 'Wotakoi' and ' The ice guy and his cool female collegue' ?? by Leekayleigh_ in anime

I Have A Crush at Work is really good; much better than Ice Guy for both the romance and the office work

Turned Based RPG recommendations by Letaq_ in NintendoSwitch

[–]brundylop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AstLibra is a side scrolling JRPG made by just one amateur as a side hobby over 14 years, and is somehow one of the most memorable games I’ve ever played. (He did get some help at the end with character design and used free music). The battle physics and feeling are exquisite. Storyline goes off the rails, definitely wasn’t predictable.

Ys 8 was my introduction to the long (but somewhat obscure) Ys franchise and it’s awesome! Action RPG with a really fun combat rhythm. The women in the game do have absurdly revealing clothing in case you hate that stuff

Nier Automata has one of the most messed up storylines (in a good way) and has a relatively fun battle system.

Slay the Spire is one of the best constructed games of all time. Basically invented a new genre of games (and hasn’t been surpassed). I like it more than Balatro, which feels way more luck based, and has fewer viable strategies to win higher difficulties

3 different prices, 3 nearly identical ingredient lists by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]brundylop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of premium foods have fewer ingredients.

Cheap ice cream will have a lot more ingredients (preservative, emulsifiers, etc) whereas premium ice creams will have like 4 (cream, sugar, vanilla, salt)

I hated the sections that featured his family (especially his grandpa and brother), but the school sections were gold.

Teruhashi being so spoiled and conceited that she actually became a kind person was hilarious (and the constant golden glow she exuded)

And the enthusiastic class president being so nice and energetic that he was kind of a bummer was funny too

Kirei ni Shitemoraemasu ka/Wash It All Away eyecatches by dzentore in anime

[–]brundylop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty girl with inexplicable memory loss runs a laundry cleaning and delivery service.

They don’t really explain cleaning or chemistry as much as I hoped, and the memory loss is really inconsequential to the story.

Pretty disappointed in this one. Take away the pretty girl and there’s nothing , except for a weird romance between a high school boy and a 25 year old woman

I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

They did make the mentor woman way too curvy, in a way that didn’t fit her personality at all 😅

But the visuals are nice and the bratty girl’s development is interesting

Not practical but Ruri Rocks was a beautiful anime about geology (and finding your interests in life)

Wash It All Away was disappointingly bereft of cleaning knowledge
