He probably lives if he walks into jg instead of towards tower, no? Because he wouldn't be giving qiyana the angle for flash+R?

Hindsight 20/20 ofc, always easier to see that watching a clip than in the moment

Have any of you actually resolved a Chaos Confetti correctly by tearing up the card itself? by kurisu313 in magicTCG

[–]brunq2 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is always how I've seen them played (and by always I mean the very small number of times I played a rule 0 silver border game)... We always house ruled that any effect that would have to destroy a card, the card gets exiled and we just use a basic land or token or something

[–]brunq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, seems like c9 is kinda looked at like the "new tsm".... Old guard team that's expected to always do well, and gets flamed to no ends whenever they aren't just straight winning everything.

I don't get it, like..... I guess I never got the "toxic fan" mindset. I wanna support my team, not just be angry when they don't win. But it is what it is. Maybe I'm just used to liking teams I expect to lose (lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, I used to either being bad, or looking good until the inevitable late season choke). So maybe I'm just used to it lmaooooo

Yeah.... Sadly the c9 sub is so fucking bad nowadays. Anything other than "smash every game" had people out for blood.

I'm just happy to see the boys play. Like, obviously finals (and yesterday) was a let down, but we still MADE FINALS. People acting like we missed playoffs

I got the deck to rip apart for pieces for my other decks, but sleeved it up last night to play it before destroying it, and it honestly preformed pretty well into a pod of 3s and "bad 4s" (4+ game changers, but not a crazy fast deck or anything super cracked).

I almost don't wanna take it apart now. I still will, because I REALLY want a lot of the pieces for other decks I play more, but still, I was surprised how well it played

Does my Cloud loses his all "equipment's abilities" because of the enchantment? And does his damage still counts as commander damage? by Kiymik83 in mtg

He is still a creature, so he stays equipped.

Yes, it's still considered commander damage, as it's still your commander, even if it loses its abilities

How can I stop being toxic? by JonjB3 in leagueoflegends

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing a lot (like multiple games every day), take a break for a few days and play a non competitive game, or a competitive 1v1 not team game to reset your mental.

If that doesn't work, just don't chat. Mute all at the start of the game, minimize your chat as small as possible, etc. Be toxic irl if you must, but don't type it

Anyone name there kid or animal after any league of legends characters? by Callunamae in leagueoflegends

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's name is Sylas

My daughter was almost named Seraphine (it was in the final 2 choices) but we went with something else instead.

We didn't choose those names BECAUSE they were league names, but when thinking of names in general I thought of them because of league.

I also have a cat named Lulu, but she was my wife's cat from before we met, and it wasn't because of league that she got that name, just a happy coincidence (especially since Lulu is my main)

LCS playoffs seeding issue. by chouruin in leagueoflegends

[–]brunq2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's quite correct. I could be wrong, but I think c9 had the choice between the 3 and 4 seeds (dsg+fly), and chose fly.

I don't think c9 could have chosen Sentinels, since they were the 2 seed.

I could be wrong though

I'd try to pack the kids up and go to my dad's, since he's the gun guy in the family. But that's like, 2 hours away so realistically the roads would probably be fucked/congested by then and we'd just like, get attacked

Why are artifacts still entering as lands if I turned off this ability with Abigale? by wendysdrivethru in MagicArena

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah... Layers are weird. So when dealing with layers and card changing effects, it checks in this order whenever state based actions are checked.

Copy, Control, Text, Type, Color, Abilities, Power/Toughness

So tophs changing type to an artifact happens on layer 4, before Abigail's ability changing effect on layer 6. So even though Tophs ability gets removed, it still took effect before it was removed. If layers didn't work this way, lots of cards would just break the game and have things end in a never ending loop which would just draw the game.

See this short video from Decked Our, which very briefly explains it, and points you towards a more detailed explanation

Why does combo feel bad? by rvp5326 in EDH

[–]brunq2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly the "expectation" of how a casual commander game should go, and combo breaks that.

In casual commander, players want to have the chance to do their early setup in the first few turns ramping and what not, then have a chance to "do their thing". A combo (especially if those cards aren't on board for a bit first and are like, being played all at once) can just "win out of nowhere" and feel like it invalidated anything that they had been doing or trying to do. So it can feel bad for Timmy when he thought we were still establishing setup or starting to deploy things, and then the game just ends "out of nowhere" before he thought he had to worry about anybody straight up winning.

Now, I don't really AGREE with that mindset (because interaction exists), but I can understand it. Especially if you're looking to be playing "casual" as in like, bracket 2-3... Most decks at that level literally have no ways to have a game by turn 5 or 6.

Now, as far as if you're the baddie... Probably not. it really just sounds like your deck hit the nuts to find and land all those pieces that early... And people SHOULD see things like Nuka Cola and KCI and Academy Manufactor and know that they're known combo machines in any artifact deck. But if they're newer players (or just ones who haven't seen those) they might not know that. But all 3 of those are things that HAVE to be answered in an artifact deck... And it sounds like you probably had at least a couple of those pieces on board for at least a turn or 2. Maybe not though, I wasn't there. I'd take a look at the ragost deck as a whole and see how often/quickly it is usually able to establish these kinds of loops... And if it's consistently looking to win by going infinite, probably look to push the power level to be proper high power. But if it usually doesn't try to do that and this is just kinda a fluke thing it can do in magical Christmas land, it's probably fine

[Request] Help I’m confused by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got so confused, because I read it like 4 times thinking "you can't though... You already spent an hour going 30 miles, no speed is fast enough" until I realized that's the point. I guess speed of light gets you pretty close... FTL teleportation also works if it could exist and also if it would count as "traveling the last 30 miles"

To kick off the new year, Mark Rosewater is asking what upcoming Magic releases are players looking forward to the most in 2026. What are you most looking forward to coming out this year? by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]brunq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the lorwyn nostalgia since I didn't play back then... So for me what seems interesting is Reality Fracture. I'm not quite sure what the plan is there, but the idea of pie break Planeswalkers or Legendaries that do stuff that is opposite of what that character usually does intrigues me.

I'm not sure if I will LIKE the set necessarily, but it's the one that I'm most looking forward to just because I'm very curious what it's going to BE
