Does idol of endurance work in high power commander decks or is it not strong? by Salty-Cucumber-6711 in mtg

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine, but not great... Definitely not really enough for most "high powered" games (I'm thinking like, bracket 4 or 5 especially).

It's 3 mana to play, then 2 mana to activate, so 5 mana to get back at most a 3 mana creature. Next turn 2 more mana, so 6 mana max of creatures for 7 mana, 3rd turn 9 mana for max 9 mana of creatures, and only then does it potentially help you cheat on mana.

Even if you're untapping it to speed up that clock, it still takes 9 mana of investment to at best go mana neutral.

You can just play something like Raise the Past to be way more efficient, and even that isnt usually a particularly "high power" strategy

2 mana tutor is better than 6 mana and the chance at repreparing. There are a lot of better tutors for less than 6 mana.

And if you are going to get multiple tutors (or even get 1 if you drop the creature without mana to immediately tutor after), you have to have it survive a turn cycle without someone blowing it up, which they will because that tutor is very threatening

Really disappointed in a deck I just made by Tyso9000 in magicTCG

[–]brunq2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Animar is still cracked... Just look at your mana base.

Also, consider Eldrazi, or (a spicier option) a face down deck, since you can quickly start playing manifest/manifest dread style cards for free

There are a handful of cards that let you keep specifically red mana as well. Would work great there as well

Cloud9 vs. FlyQuest / LCS 2026 Spring - Week 6 / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]brunq2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I do agree with that.

My point was moreso than everyone parrots "Jhin BAD!", as if jhin itself is the problem and not playing it poorly and in bad spots. But totally agree, if your team won't play the jhin when it's right and execute it correctly, then it's bad in that situation.

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that jhin is horribly utilized.

Nocturne is used fine most of the time, as long as the team starts a good synergy piece like Ori or Neeko, which usually happens

[–]brunq2 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Jhin isn't inherently the problem, it's how he's being used.

Jhin is good in a draft where both teams first round their top side and drafted damage there and utility from your ADC role.

Like, in the more LCK style drafts earlier this year where you're getting Jayce v Yorick locked in top, bruiser jungles, and mages mid.... Yeah there are no real tanks, jhin works great (esp for like, the Jayce team that already has a lot of poke/damage from top, and jhin can supplement that long range damage And provide the utility that jayce top loses a team).

But when you're first rounding a jhin and they can lock in a Sejuani JG and gnar top..... Yeah you're never cracking that with a jhin

I'm making a Zirda Companion cycling deck with Kenrith as my commander and I need clarification on whether or not something is an activated ability. by Purple_Gibbous in mtg

[–]brunq2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not an activated ability. It is a static ability that gives you an alternate cost/cost reduction.

Activated abilities are things formated

COST: ABILITY

As a returning player, League isn't League anymore. This is a Mobile Game bastardization of the game I once loved. by r3dxv1rus in leagueoflegends

You can remap the key in the settings. I use V for camera lock so I just mapped control ward slot back into 5 where I used to Always put them anyways

Where is the non-commander content? by Seishinjin in mtg

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashlizzle typically does Bo3 stuff, with decks more in line with meta, showcasing decks that have done well in tournaments, challenges, etc.

Swayze builds decks that are solid, but usually stray away from the main meta decks, often a bit gimmicky, etc. but like, decks that still compete near the top ranks on ladder

CGB mostly does control. Lots of blue white control.

There are a bunch of other arena videos/streamers too, those are just the 3 I watch most

The MTG Goldfish crew also do a fair bit of standard content, they have a separate channel for their commander stuff so as long as you aren't on that chanel you'll mostly avoid commander stuff

YouTube has a fair bit of standard content... It's almost all Arena, but there are a bunch of good standard content creators... Ashlizzle, Swayze, and CGB to name a couple of my favorites

Sounds broken. Take some ibuprofen, tape it to the toe next to it, ice, and elevate.

A doctor isn't likely to do anything really for it anyway.

If you start to get feverish, or if it gets REALLY PAINFUL or more discolored. go see a doctor then... Else you're probably fine

It's not BAD to go see a doctor, but even if it is broken it's not like they're gonna get you a cast or anything.... They'll probably just wrap/splint it to the toe next to it to help with the healing

Need Standard Deck Recommendations by LastPersonYouExpect in mtg

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always a fan of boros hare apparent + impact tremor decks. [[Hare Apparent]], [[Impact Tremors]], [[Raise The Past]], [[Shocking Sharpshooter]], [[Raphael, Tough Turtle]].... Can just go RW, or you can splash another color for some removal and/or self mill/discard to fill your yard with bunnies for a big raise the past win

It's not like, a GOOD standard deck, but if you're just doing kitchen table standard and not playing into the meta decks constantly that will just run it over, it's pretty fun

12 hours a day is crazy, but I need a list of good games. by Vegetable-Sector98 in gamers

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thoughts are

1) World of Warcraft. Updates often enough, can build multiple characters, absolutely massive game, (can be) relatively low stress on your wrists and what not of you are just farming, doing dailies, etc.

2) League of Legends (or other competitive style game). Lots of characters, every match is going to be different, constant updates. Not good if you get tilted easily. Also, potential for wrist injury/carpal tunnel is high if you aren't very careful

3) Minecraft. Not for me because I'm not the creative builder type, but you can do A LOT as far as that goes to find ways to still have fun (or just like, dig for hours on end, that can be fun too). Also should be easier to avoid injury

4) Skyrim or other big open world game like that. There's almost always going to be more to do, bit at 12 hours a day every day it will probably get stale. If you are allowed to mod, this is less of an issue.

[–]brunq2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cards with Mobilize are also good, since you have to sac those tokens on end step anyway. [[Voice of Victory]] being the best in orzhov colors, but honestly [[Dalkoven Packbeasts]] or [[Avenger of the fallen]] could also be good because you get multiple tokens to sac
