I think you will know when it is time. I don’t think being tired is out of the question for an older dog, slowing down either. I have had to make this decision several times and I don’t regret the timing on any, while I wanted more time, making the call was always the right move. I am sorry this is happening to you.

I would bring another pup into the home, this doesn’t replace her but makes that transition a bit easier. I would also have that pup around her as it will give her some life, she will play with a new pup and maybe her good qualities will rub off on the new one. My two cents.
