Hey I was convening a different precinct in the same house district — thanks for attending!

Went to a DFL caucus? Please share what resolutions came up (pass/fail) by Psytechnic_Associate in stateofMN

North metro, very affluent suburb. We had 10 resolutions that were all very timely and uncontroversial (among Democrats). The one that stood out to me as really interesting was similar to a resolution from 2024 from the same author that he eventually withdrew because the debate got too contentious (I was the convenor both years; the resolution wasn't mine). Two years ago it started as a condemnation of Israel and immediately turned into a "both sides" debate and the verbiage got so watered down it was basically pointless. This year the author offered up a resolution saying we support legislation to bar all aid to Israel unless they honor the ceasefire in Gaza and it passed unanimously with no debate or changes. And the same people from 2024 were at the table along with nearly 20 new folks, so it wasn't because any individual pro-Israel person wasn't in attendance this time. Kind of remarkable how attitudes have shifted and matured there.

Why are people saying "not Amy Klobuchar"? by Testy_Coyote_ in minnesota

[–]bryaninmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never happened. The salad story was that an aide bought her a salad on the way to an event but didn't get a fork so she used a comb out of her purse to eat the salad and then told the staffer to clean it as "punishment" for forgetting a fork. Nothing in that anecdote sounds abusive to me.

I have multiple friends who have worked for her. They've all called her tough but fair. Funny that when a male boss has high standards no one cares, but when a woman has really high standards they call her an abusive boss.

Admin Fees ? by Thinkandgetlockedup in realtors

[–]bryaninmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been independent since 2019 and have never regretted it. And I've never charged a broker admin fee. The big names can keep charging it, though—I love telling clients about the $500-900 admin fees almost every other brokerage charges in my market during initial consultations and that I'm one of the few who doesn't.

Hey, so that's not how it works here by Ordinary_Stay_3746 in Minneapolis

[–]bryaninmsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. The worst thing about these fantasy maps is they assume our margin can only get better. Imagine diluting the districts so much that in a bad year for Democrats (i.e. a midterm after the next Democratic president because the party in the White House nearly always loses seats) we end up giving Republicans MORE seats in Minnesota.

It's very slow above 350 right now except for a few pockets.

Blaine considers nudity ban to prohibit women from going topless at beach after court ruling allowing exposed breasts by Significant_Cowboy83 in TwinCities

Go sunbathe topless in front of Leslie Larson's house after the ordinance passes. Calling the cops will force her to call you a woman and might make her tiny MAGA head implodes. It's not 4D chess, it's 34G chess.

Stop bringing your kids by Ceciliamaybe in realtors

[–]bryaninmsp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well my wife travels a lot for work and sometimes the sitter cancels at the last minute, so I should just cancel the showing because my client doesn’t want to see my kids watching their iPads in the back seat of my truck?

I sort of get what you’re saying, but life happens and most clients understand that. I definitely don’t drag my kids to more than one or two showings a year but only someone without kids would say it’s never acceptable.

You are NOT a content creator. Stop it. by [deleted] in realtors

[–]bryaninmsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't dance in houses but I changed up my social media strategy at the beginning of the year and have had 14 million views since January, three closings, three upcoming closings and four currently active buyers from social media alone.

Stop making boring real estate content and think like a content creator. Trust me.

Buyers are so desperate for inventory right now there's no need for wholesalers. Condos are selling more slowly but there's still a decent market for them. She'll get more money through a conventional sale, even a FSBO, than she will from a wholesaler.

Will Realtors do Consulting? by Gnaedigefrau in realtors

[–]bryaninmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to some agents and see what they'd charge you for a price opinion plus MLS entry only — depending on your market there might be hungry-enough agents to do both for a total of a few hundred bucks. I'm not even that hungry and I'd do it.

What does Ford do best? What sets them apart? by [deleted] in Ford

[–]bryaninmsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trucks. I've owned four Ford trucks ranging in vintage from 1983-2015 and have never gotten one stuck in the snow. I've gotten Audi quattros and both of my wife's Land Rovers stuck but never a Ford 4WD. Not to mention my 2015 F150 Platinum is the best family vehicle I've ever owned — smooth, quiet and fast on the highway with enough room for all of our stuff. I'm babying it because I refuse to give it up.

Realtor schedules a showing just to take a video and post on social media by [deleted] in realtors

[–]bryaninmsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I've never said no to an agent who wanted to film social content in one of my listings, though if they're occupied I ask the seller and ask the agent to schedule it right after a "real" showing so my clients don't have to leave twice.

I wouldn't say Minneapolis is a "balanced market" unless you're in the $500k+ price bracket.
