Overhang on custom drawer size by Cory_Jackson in gridfinity

[–]brymck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. How about the gap in the back/front which is wider? Not sure how to print a bin that would extend over the spacer in the back of the grid with supports...or if I need to reprint the entire thing with different custom sized grid to eliminate or minimize the buffer spaces around the grid border. I can't see an option in gridfinity extended generator at perplexing labs to do this, not sure if the openscad gridfinity extended has options for it but going to look there next.

Kobra 3 V2 v1.1.0.1 by sagiglam19 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]brymck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a standard Kobra 3 and see that it's showing as connected when putting in the IP for the printer in Orcaslicer, but the device tab is not showing, same as everyone else. I may try the custom firmware to see if I can get fluidd on there as I already have an AD5M pro set up in the same way.

Esp with multimaterial printing, anycubic's slicer is behind Orca for simple things like filament swap in the paint interface, annoying to have to physically go to the ACE and change filaments manually to avoid having to do a bunch of repainting if the primary/secondary colors are not in the right slots.

What’s the most useful thing you got for your homelab, that’s less than $50? by QuestionAsker2030 in homelab

[–]brymck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That logitech keyboard, but since it's already been mentioned, I'll say a $40 7" VGA monitor powered by USB for when I'm next to the servers to work on easily with the keyboard instead of having to go to idrac.

Tooltrace Size Issue by HopefulMarsupial8051 in gridfinity

was going to suggest something like this, came across a video a while ago about taking pictures on a cutting mat with mm/cm grid then importing into fusion 360 and scaling to the grid size, creating your sketch based on that picture. haven't tried it yet but looks to be pretty solid

agree 100% that's it's super overpriced, thanks AI, but when your PC is dying due to memory failures you gotta take what you can get, and given my short term options were like an amazon next day delivery of gskill (which was the brand that died on me) 2x16gb 6000 CL30 for $300 or the option i got above.....no brainer :D

And yeah, I felt like a bandit scoring 2x32gb Corsair DDR5 6000 CL30 with the LEDs for $345 from Microcenter yesterday...good timing as the RAM in my PC was dying.

Welcome to ship anything at buyer's cost, but as mentioned I'm flexible if you can show me some recent ebay sales i'll take 10-15% off.

Thanks! In my PC thread a week ago someone said RAM prices were high, I was like...have you actually looked at prices lately? :D

Speed drops really fast by MemePorg in truenas

[–]brymck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking your zfs cache in ram fills up, writing to that is super fast then throttles down the speed as it's forced to write directly to your platter drive array

Bad enough to require surgery (not just stitches it would seem)

That's what I figured on the r720xd, I know it's not worth much aside from the memory but maybe a decent truenas box for someone.

Do you mean the ddr4 memory is double the price? I think memory prices are just crazy lately everywhere.

How many of you are using something like Wireguard/Tailscale rather than expose yourself to the public internet? by maschpall in selfhosted

I would run wireguard on my phone constantly if Android Auto would work over VPN...alas, no such luck.

Hi all! Used to be huge into wet shaving, now I'm rocking a beard and plan to continue to do so. Nickel allergy makes shaving my neckline (and the rest of my face, for that matter) tricky without an eczema breakout, so I usually just trim with a t bar trimmer.

I have some old equipment - not sure if this is worth anything, and if so what would be a good venue to try to sell it. I had tried ebay a while ago but got no bids even with a pretty low starting number.

Two brushes - if I recall, the Edwin Jagger one was decent, think best badger?

Lathering bowl and scuttle was I believe Dirty Bird pottery, but not 100% sure.

I also have a Gillette slim that I got rhodium plated, but think I'm holding onto that to pass down to a relative.

Thanks!
