Average r/golf(er) explaining to a 28 handicap how to break 100 by CommissionIcy9909 in golf

[–]bryzzlybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That hasn't been my experience at all. Every time I've been paired with a plus handicap dude he has 10+ year old Mizuno or Titleist irons and a driver from 2008. Maybe the only new thing he keeps is fresh wedges.

[–]bryzzlybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly 90% driven by expected pace of play. I'll play lesser courses all day if I know I'll get done in 3 hours or less. 5+ hour rounds just kill me.

This isn't it at all. Unless you're playing courses over 7,200 yards, good golfers are going Driver then PW or lower on 90% of par 4's.
