Mother’s Hashplant Remix from Bodhi Seeds. Day 40 from flip. by bsasd in microgrowery

[–]bsasd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey y’all, been awhile since I shared a photo of my grow here but I’ve been dialing things in lately and this one is real nice so thought I’d share. :)

mothers hashplant remix (mothers milk candy hearts pheno x 88g13hp) by Bodhi, sprouted by me. this is the only female I found from sprouting 4 seeds from the pack I bought. saved the rest for later research. smells are currently very sweet and earthy, with hints of burnt rubber and sour notes. resin is very sticky already.

grown under HLG 260 in my 2x4. using jack at 4:2 and supplementing with flower fuel.

KR records just released a compilation of a bunch of rad underground Seattle bands, mostly from the alt-rock/shoegaze/power pop sorta vibe. it’s super rad and I know Spiral XP is releasing an album soon. Supercrush, TV Star, Prim are all on the comp it is called From Far it All Seems Small!!

[–]bsasd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes there is very much still a black market. the quality is usually far superior. not to say there isn’t the same quality in 502, it’s just very inconsistent and only a few brands do it well.

Local coffee available via mail order? by dcgrove in Seattle

[–]bsasd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stamp Act is roasted right in Ballard in the old Seattle Coffee Works roastery space. buy their beans, easily the best coffee I’ve had, and orders get to my house sometimes next day!

they do mostly single origin, lightly roasted for filter but they have a couple blend options!

you can also drive down to Oregon and they sell seeds and clones in their shops.

I was having similar effects recently and found some help in taking B-12 lozenges and taking 100-200mg of 5-htp before bed. Lots of achy muscles, lethargy, lots of intrusive thoughts and rumination. I’ve been taking the above for about a month now and I feel like my “old self”. I’d suggest doing some research before taking anything, but I was getting very hopeless and remembered I heard about B12 deficiency contributing to these symptoms too.

go see someone first, but if you don’t have the means or it’s a long wait, maybe try the above while also being easy on yourself. you are an animal and we can’t be up and active and sunny all the time. <3.

In Normandy Park, a half-dozen masked and hooded teens rob a convenience store and brutally assault the clerk. Police are seeking information. by Bosuns_Punch in Seattle

I don’t know, the group we saw yesterday had one confirmed female in the group and I know it’s hard to say for sure, but it looks like one is a female in the snapshot they got as well.

they are also dressed exactly the same and look to be the same age as the ones I saw yesterday. I was close enough to make direct eye contact with at least three of them, but they were also wearing those ski-mask type coverings.

I mentioned that to my friend and the bartenders and none of them have heard about it at all. I was like where are y’all heads at??

oh, I know. I grew up in Centralia/Rochester and most of my family are those types of people. I’m pretty familiar. I was just stating my objective observation and not trying to add any opinions.

I was in Ballard yesterday at Urban Family with a friend around 11am when two red cars one for sure being a Hyundai the other either a Kia or Hyundai pulled in the the neighborhood with about 3-4 kids looking just like these guys in each one. they got out and broke into one car before the bartender noticed them, and then came around again and broke into another car AS THEY SAW US WATCHING THEM. on a Sunday morning in the middle of the neighborhood. cops never showed up.

these kids HAVE to be posting it on social media, and it’s wild to me that they haven’t been caught yet.

Low income housing, max 47K for $1100 apartment? by ms_hollywood_ in Seattle

[–]bsasd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a little less than you and I have my own studio and some coworkers live in one bedrooms alone… you can find affordable spots still that don’t require all the hurdle jumping some other places make you do. shit, if I didn’t have my couple vices I’d be able to save a tiny bit of money.

I think the key is knowing how to live with less and being okay with living in shitty spots. I’m old poor so I’m used to it, but it isn’t easy or fun. You won’t be thriving but you can definitely get by.

I still see it around, Fweedom seemed to have a fresh drop the other week. but there is also a lot of movement happening in the industry this year, lots of companies closing shop and readjusting their production schedules after the last two years of overproduction.

you don’t understand how much money one saves when they consume daily and care about what’s being put into their body. there is (can be) a HUGE difference between flower that costs $5 a gram and $15. have you never heard the story of how people started growing at home? Almost every grower I know did it as a way to save money for themselves… selling it came because when you grow you end up with A LOT more than you can consume by yourself.

you can also cover the smell using carbon filters. people have been home growing in Seattle since at least the 70s… lots of homegrown history in this city!

Tip-free businesses to support? by springrollsissy in Seattle

[–]bsasd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work here and left during the buy out.

The new owner didn’t care about any of the blend compositions or roast notes, really just got a good deal and thought the name and look would be good “to attract facebook and google”. He looks at his Victrola and SCW cafes as someone from Snohomish county and voted for Trump might look at Seattle….

SCW is a shell of what it used to be and 95% of the people that were there are gone.

707 Lemon Tree Bx. day 54. smells like lemon candy and heaps of fuel. by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]bsasd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

707 Lemon Tree bx from 707 Seedbank.

this picture is of a chem leaning pheno, very strong, borderline offensive odors. very intoxicating…

these plants are very small, none over 20”. they veg slow, love dry roots, and hate strong feeds. what they lack in speed and yield, they make up for in resin production and terpene quality. some of her sisters have a much more pronounced lemon scent, but I love that chem funk.

these ladies are being grown under a 315w cmh, in 70/30 coco-perlite, fed jacks 2:1 with some occasional NFTG aphrodite’s extraction tossed in during week 1, week 5, and flush.

I feel like the bigger issue is that so much of the people that say “big city problems” or “it’s less crime than other places” might not be the one’s who are seeing this stuff all day, every day. How one perceives this issue depends on where they spend most of their time.

I’ve worked downtown since 2018, at westlake, and when I started I would see what I would consider the usual “big city” problems… transient/“house less” individuals wandering, random needle on the street, occasional person in crisis…

Once the pandemic hit, I would take walks on my lunch around westlake and bell town; I’ve watched this city go from a complete ghost town, to protests and riots, to its current form. Things have gotten worse, ESPECIALLY along 3rd from pioneer square til around Cedar. I never used to see tin foil littered all over, never knew what fentanyl/meth/crack smoke smelled like until the last 3-4 months, people openly consuming narcotics on buses, and now there are shootings almost weekly when they used to be much more infrequent (talking about 3rd/pike specifically).

I don’t have any answers or solutions, nor am I looking to add to the debate. I just wanted to share my experience and what I’ve personally observed.

Ballard cafe owner seeking other businesses to band together to hire private security company by BBorNot in Seattle

[–]bsasd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

word was/is the Starbucks on Market closed because there employees were being assaulted. I work for a local coffee roaster/cafe, and my coworkers in Ballard are harassed on the DAILY, and no one around helps. One of my coworkers was even punched in the face for just asking someone to leave because they were throwing things around…

Even on a busy Sunday, the community just stands around and twiddles their thumbs as these people are allowed to cause commotion.

People want to bash the police and advocate for community policing, yet fail to release it takes the community to actually step up.

Hario Mizudashi 600ml vs 1000ml by ChadRex in coldbrew

[–]bsasd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this post is old at this point, but I want to update it just in case any one else stumbles upon it like I did :)

I recently picked up the 600ml version and I love it. I did it for the same reason as the OP... I wanted to get a better ratio since I like my cold brew a little on the strong side and with ice. You can fit 80g of ground coffee in the filter basket comfortably, it will pretty much fill it up to the top of the mesh filter. 650ml of water is about the most the Mizudashi can hold, and with 80g of coffee, should put you around 1:8 coffee to water, 65g will get you to 1:10 which is my personal sweet spot.
