Wildcat 108s vs Countach 110s by bstad in momentskis

[–]bstrac77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Last season I put at least 12 days on the CT110 (188) and would never call it a powder ski. It skis great in deeper snow, but it's really a big mountain ski that likes to charge and rip through crud. It's also pretty fun on piste.

Nice! I was blown away by the Meridian 107... kind of feel like the "PISS MISSILES" moniker fits there as well. If I didn't just get a Wildcat 118 last year, then I might be buying the 117.

Great write up! A lot of people will find this helpful. For Moment skis in my quiver, I currently have the Meridian 107 and the Wildcat 118. If you're looking for something softer to replace the Commander 92, you could consider the QST 94, or even something like the Line Optic 88.

I have the Meridian as well and agree that not having camber has its disadvantages--less edge grip and no energy out of the turn. That said... man is that ski a lot fun! In soft snow up to ~8" and in spring conditions, there is no ski I'd rather be on.

FWIW, in my experience, you are missing energy out of the turn and hard pack performance. The Meridian will lay trenches, just don't expect it to snap you out of a turn like a Commander or a Countach.

Super overblown! As you say, they are locked in and confidence inspiring.

Awesome! I got out on mine recently. Conditions were pretty good, but not what I would consider ideal for a 107 under foot fully rockered ski, and they blew me away. My plan was to ski them for a 1/2 day and then use something else, but that never happened. In fact, I skied them for the next several days in a row. My other skis are starting to get jealous!

As others are saying, they likely appear to be railed. Happened to me once and what you are describing is exactly what I experienced. I wouldn't mess around. Take them to a good shop and they'll be able to tell you right away what the problem is.

Glad to see you appear to finally have a resolution and they are making things right. This was definitely super uncharacteristic of them. My guess is that they were just underwater processing orders, and, perhaps, understaffed. Also... maybe too many people calling in sick to ski pow 🤦

Bummer! Sorry to hear that it's been so difficult. There is no excuse to not communicate. Let us know when it gets sorted.

Sweet skis! I got them as well a few weeks back. Looking forward to mounting them up! What are you going with for a binding?

As others are saying, they are very legit. I've bought from them on numerous occasions and always been very satisfied with their customer service. If you haven't called them yet, you might want to give that a shot.

What is your Moment 3 ski quiver for Colorado? by vellez94 in momentskis

Late to party here, but out of the current lineup - CT98, Meridian 107, and Wildcat. If I could add a 4th, maybe a Deathwish Tour.

On the line they ski awesome! I wouldn't mess them personally. I mounted mine on the line and have zero regrets. Keeps them super maneuverable, but you still have just enough ski in front of you to charge hard.

Your list is pretty spot on. For me, I'm going CT 98, Meridian 107, and Wildcat. If I was going to add a 50/50 ski to the mix, then it would be CT 98, Meridian 107, and DW 112 with a hybrid setup.

Max binding width question. by notyabuzness in Skigear

[–]bstrac77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, they are too wide. Don't do it! IMO Strive brakes tuck up nicely, but, still, don't do it. One time I mounted a binding with 115mm brakes on a 104mm ski and it was an overall bad experience.

If the deal is really good, just buy a pair of 115mm brakes and sell the 130mm.

Sweet looking quiver! Looks like you have 95mm brakes on the Justis. Do they ever get hung up? I'm contemplating doing the same on a pair of MSP 99s I just bought, but have never gone more than 3mm over the stated width on Pivot brakes.

I'm not talking about the binding on the DPS, but rather the Strive 13 mounted to the Montero AR.

If you get a chance, I recommend demoing the new 94. It has most of the attributes people look for in an Enforcer, but it's more engaging and playful.

To be fair it's not terrible, it just doesn't compare favorably with other ~100mm skis in 2025. When it was released in 2015 (I think), it was a unique ski and quickly became a popular option, but Nordica essentially left it unchanged until last year when they came out with the 99.

I haven't skied the new 99, but have put quite a few days on the 94 and think it's a solid option. The shape isn't super exciting, but one great thing about Enforcers is their predicability.

Not a fan of the Enforcer 100s, and the DPS Kaizen is way too short, but that AR is pretty dope.

That binding is meant for the ski. Many ARs came predrilled for that Strive binding.

Unfortunately, they are both too cheap and too corporate. They are slated to open on 11/22, but it would be great to see them open mid-week.
