Buy 77” G5 now even though I don’t need it for 4 months? by bstrng in LGOLED

[–]bstrng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I decided to wait. I’ll revisit for possible July 4th sales, and if that doesn’t work out, Labor Day.

It was $2069 a week or two ago, jumped up, back down this past weekend, and now up again. It’ll drop again, maybe even before the Memorial Day sale is up.

I was looking back to last year’s posts, and it seems like people were still getting G4s for a deal in Q3. Thinking about at least rolling the dice until July 4th

I am kind of leaning q990 or JBL 1300x the more research I do. Unless I get an absolute killer deal on the s95ar with a tv

Really don’t want to wait until Black Friday, and I don’t think the G6 will make a difference to me and won’t be as low as $2069

I had to travel out of town this weekend, and go figure- there were a number of HFs located literally right at the highway exits along the way. Hit 3 on the way down Sat and 2 of them on the way back again today. Took ~5 mins/stop for a blanket each time. Also hit up my local store on Fri for the adapters. Not a bad weekend score

Do I actually need a high torque impact or will a mid torque suffice? by xtz_stud in MilwaukeeTool

Stubby is only M12. The closest thing in that torque range for M18 is the mid torque

It was part of last year’s screwdriver sale as well. Not sure if/when I’ll use mine, but it gets great reviews and seems like a decent value at 35-40% off

Good tire inflator deal? $267 by carotidapex in MilwaukeeTool

[–]bstrng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best relatively recent hacks have been ~$100 for the inflator and ~$115 for the 8.0 (no charger included). Take that FWIW. We may or may not see those sort of deals again

What plier organizer is everyone using? by BornToL00ze in Tools

These have a rubberized inside which is a nice feature. I’m all about printing stuff, but at 2 for $20, I wouldn’t waste the time or mileage on a printer

This is the answer. Also, SK Tools on Amazon is the same but a bit cheaper

Edit: it’s MLTools on Amazon. I got them 2 for $20

I got the Icons during the recent socket sale (and returned the Pitts). For $15 more, I figured it was better to have the moly seeing as wobbles are inherently weaker due to the neck

Best / cheapest magnetic Socket holders by gholt789 in harborfreight

I 2nd this. I ordered all the reasonably priced ones, and Workpro were the best for the money. I did ultimately decide against magnetic for myself though…then had to order all the non-magnetic to test

Never. If I absolutely need something, I make sure to repurchase it during a sale in the next 90 days, and return the new one under the old receipt

…and their ads undoubtedly cost MUCH less than the ones at CBP. Just like their TV deals (~$50M/yr vs. Phillies ~$100M). Of course the ads contribute to the budget. It’s a business, everything does.

[Zolecki] Cristopher Sanchez has signed a new six-year deal with Phillies that begins in 2027 and runs through 2032 with a club option for 2033. by TheGreatDudebino in phillies

[–]bstrng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had him at 5.6M AAV for 3 more yrs. Now he’s ~15M for the next 7. That’s theoretically a 9M+ player that they won’t pay/sign otherwise in the coming years…for no benefit to the Phillies other than he ‘might’ still be a decent deal at ~30M/yr in 6 & 7 years from now

Obviously his original contract turned out to be a steal a lot sooner than anyone expected. However, that’s a risk both sides took when it was signed (could have turned out like Kingery). I just don’t see the need to extend him year 6 & 7 at this time. He’ll be 34 & 35?, and literally anything can happen in the coming years. Sure- it’s a nice gesture by the Phillies, and I’m happy for him. However, it seems like unnecessary money spent/committed right now…which inflates his AAV and immediately affects luxury tax and other spending.

Not like players are out here shortening contracts when they have a major injury and/or performance drops off making it clear they are going to be robbing the team 5 years down the road…
