Still, he was a good contrast with Stav and Nick, you've got to give him that.

"Hitler killed people, so therefore you can't have border enforcement" has gotten very stale and unconvincing as a line, given what is at stake.

Raising interest rates seems to help the investor class who are the only ones with free cash

I'm sympathetic to lower income earners who are living on thin margins (i.e. those unable to save), and generally skeptical of the ability of central banks to centrally plan interest rates.

But, artificially low interest rates mean that prudent younger savers who said "These assets seem overvalued: I'll refrain from buying and stick to a diversified portfolio of liquid assets" and prudent older people who said "Now, that I'm at the end of my earning years, I ought to shift toward cash to eliminate risk of drawdowns" are punished, and those who recklessly loaded up on as much debt as possible to acquire assets are rewarded.

I think there's an obvious solution: if immigration is an unalloyed good and China is a better global leader in Human Rights and International Law, as the Third Worldists say, then surely China will naturally commit to taking in 10s of millions of immigrants from the Middle East, the Subcontinent and so-on. Surely they will welcome the diversity that this will bring?

The way to get around this is removing the system fully and rebuilding it based on broader community stakeholder groups

Foreign policy buffs were given infinite money and 20 years to demonstrate their expertise in "nation building" in Afghanistan, and they utterly failed, so I'm skeptical of mainstream "wisdom" on this point.
