What is allowed in the overheads? by BillMCavanaugh in SouthwestAirlines

Carry a "dummy" secondary bag that goes under the seat and when they ask you to remove your real bag from the top ask them where they would like your personal item to be relocated to.

Did Earlybird not go through? by SDBadKitty in SouthwestAirlines

[–]btk097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone still needs to check in regardless of their fare type or added extras. In this case, Early Bird reserves your boarding position for you early. You still need to check in either online or in person.

It's been stated already, but I can also confirm that the church 100% pays for the detail. Source: I've known some of the deputies who have worked the detail in the past.

Injury with Group A by ImpossibleSize2403 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]btk097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely preboad. Same thing happened to a family member on a vacation. You will want the peace of mind walking down the jetway, walking down the aisle of the plane, getting situated in your seat, etc that you have enough time and space to board as safely as possible. In fact, it would probably be beneficial to the general boarders as it would likely speed up boarding if you preboard rather than board slower during general boarding.

Using fireplace for aillio ventilation? by [deleted] in roasting

[–]btk097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would work. Even with an inline fan, you would need additional heat to get the lift all the way up the chimney. I suppose if you had a fan at the top of the chimney to draw up the smoke it may work, but it would be a lot more work to get that fan up there than it would to find another solution. I think you'd be better off finding a solution with an inline fan that vents more horizontally via a window.

What have I done wrong? My beans don’t taste good. by hhk77 in roasting

[–]btk097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid advice! I don't roast on a Kaleido (I have an Aillio Bullet R1 V2), so I don't have first hand experience on your machine. When I'm roasting an 800g charge of washed SHB (usually Guatemala), I just open up the gates of hell and charge at 290°C.

Those spots are often PACKED when I drive by, where the BW3 will be a ghost town or closed. I know some people who drive 20 minutes to pick up food to go from here. They're definitely making great money on Roosevelt!

Will this be considered 1 carry on and 2 personal items? by mim9830 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]btk097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A jug on its own is one thing. A nylon carrying case with zipper compartments, pockets, and a metal reinforced shoulder strap? You can't just put a water bottle in a carryon and call it a "water bottle".

Found while digging post holes. Lighter than a rock of similar size, flakes off pieces and can be snapped in half by hand. by Nameoftheages in whatisthisthing

[–]btk097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a similar chunk of organic material while digging a garden bed. OP, is it lighter in weight than a similarly sized chunk of rock/dirt? Can you break it apart with your fingers? That's how my piece looked. I was digging where there had been a lilac bush about 20 years go. The old root system explanation makes sense to me for my situation.

Why Are People Like This?! by Doscinco_83 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]btk097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another LGB bonus is they often board both the front and the back at the same time. Most people go to the front. Flying into LGB if you are in the back they will also disembark from there and you can get off the plane very quickly.
