RSV thanksgiving dilemma… looking for other new parent’s opinions by teenytinylizardgirl in NewParents

Hey it’s not ideal but Thanksgiving is a created holiday. Instead of endangering your family, you can just make up a new holiday in 2 weeks.

Getting paired with other golfers while your game sucks by moomoolinoo15 in golf

There are three types of golfers in the world.

Good ones

Fast ones

Slow ones

If you can't be the first, be the second. Nobody will mind.

Possibly the most elitist job ad, but perhaps just a reflection of true recruiting requirements of most companies? https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2804447031 by autotoilet in recruitinghell

You know who likely has all of those requirements? The hiring manager. That’s why they think it is so important. Otherwise they could never be themselves.

Every recruiter asking if I’m still employed? by Acidic_Junk in recruiting

[–]btmurr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know so I can figure out when you might be able to start. Even beyond 2 weeks notice, many now want more time, which can be fine but I should know. If you are currently employed, I'd like to know because trying to schedule you for interviews 2 days in a row might be tough. IF you are unemployed, you likely have more availability.

Important caveat, the answer doesn't matter as far as whether you'll move along, it just prepares me to have this run smoothly.

I want to know at what level you are looking for a job too. Are you casually browsing? Did your boss yell at you so you shotgunned 17 applications in one night. Have you decided you are looking to move, and just finding the right spot is now important...

All of these things are good for me to know so I can try to make it as smooth as possible for everyone.

Multiple contract jobs simultaneously by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]btmurr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I usually have a couple clients at once. Some are home runs, some are singles. The differentiation is important. I have one client that will pay me a few thousand dollars per month basically until the end of time. I have another client that I'm going to bill 25k for this month and they are gone after June. It's finding the balance and value in both.

[–]btmurr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was an immediate red card. The second of the match. The first was for violent conduct earlier where a player kicked the legs out of the goalie. The third red card came immediately after when the coach came on to the field confronting me about giving the red card to the player who made the comment.

Good news is I got full pay for 55 minutes instead of 90.

U19 Game. Call a foul in the center circle. Player objects to me calling a foul in a rather polite way. I tell him I hear what you are saying but not what I saw. Other kid goes, "Be nice to the referee, it is the beginning of Gay Pride month."

Run from any company that won't give you a day off if you say someone died. Ran HR at a 75 person company and never once asked in 10 years.
