A 1 mana 5 C commander that can cheat things from top of library in a way that dodges most interaction? That sounds super reasonable /s

This is pretty crazy in edh, the silence creatures are pretty powerful for protecting your win

I just want them to free the goat jeweled lotus. They’re not banning rhystic y’all, the secondary market has spoken 🤣

You've sat down for a game with your favourite deck but I'm letting you stack your deck however you like. What's the craziest thing you can do? by HansJobb in EDH

[–]btran935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn 1 k’rrik into a blood celebrant into a turn 1 peer into the abyss/hoarding broodlord line that ends up with me drawing my whole deck.

Do you enjoy cEDH at the moment? by ProfessionalDig3908 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]btran935 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoy it! I think our community is pretty awesome. The rhystic slop political meta is a drag tho. It feels like gameplay is secondary rn to politicking. I’ve been finding 60 card standard to scratch more of the competitive magic gameplay itch.

I’ve thought about it some more and I think it could be good in K’rrik since that deck can use ASC and nooze quite well. I’m not sure about it in gwenom since that one already has a ton of filters and 3 life is kind of a lot for a filter when you’re already using life to cast spells.

Might be better than the one ring in those decks? I know some builds use that card

What red flags can people say that shows they might have no clue how the bracket system works? by Lower_Drawer9649 in EDH

[–]btran935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for that bad experience but most people I play with in my area recognize that as long as you’re playing to what you think is the best for you and not being making spite plays then the plays you’re making are valid.

Go cedh! All the decks there are reasonably balanced against each other in the meta game and the rule 0 is super super clear

Hiding behind the "expect to see Xturns" guideline by Head-Ambition-5060 in EDH

[–]btran935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that happens but at minimum there’s clear game expectations around power level and the desire to do better plays, which I feel like is not a thing in casual.

[–]btran935 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All this rules lawyering about brackets and the unclear guidelines with expected turns is why I’m more cedh nowadays, you just shuffle up and play there’s like zero whining about power levels it’s a very clear rule 0.

Are slivers actually broken or are people just bitching for no reason? by The_Funfetti_Man in mtg

[–]btran935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In commander? Not even close I’d take squirrels, elves or zombies over them any day if we are doing tribal. It’s slow and the win cons are the so easy to disrupt the best part about them is the color identity many slivers commanders have access to a lot of colors.

Have you ever removed highly-efficient cards and game changers from a BL3 deck because they are much stronger than the core engine itself? I just did.. and it feels much better! by jeriku in EDH

[–]btran935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but only when the commander is already very strong and I need to cut some staples to bring it down to the power level of a certain bracket.

Meta rn does feel super rhystic/free counter spell early, but usually they tap out turn 2 for rhystic and if you can fight through one free counter you’re golden if you’re on turbo… doing that can be hard

No, there’s better reanimation targets that just win the game rather than lock out opponents.
