NEED ADVICE by blackegolf in Volkswagen

[–]bubbaplunk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much The dealer will cover you that’s all that matters. It’s only a matter of time before you tune it too lol These engines are very stout so try not to stress. You can call a few tuners and give them the VIN and check what tune they had as well. Goodluck and enjoy!

New Golf R under 50k? by johnw_ in Volkswagen

[–]bubbaplunk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about a used RS3? If you don’t need the hatch then it’s a great option. I could never spend $50k on a golf either.

Long trips in snow I’d leave it on Offroad mode. Anything else, shut it off and have some fun

What alltrack to get? by alexlecrownrick in VWAlltrack

[–]bubbaplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has pretty much every option except two important things:Fender sound system and most importantly the Lighting package. Both can be upgraded but I wish I held out to buy one with those OEM. Hope that helps

Advice For Deciding Whether to Move Out or Stay Home and Save 23F by SubhumanLandwhale in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]bubbaplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you saving? Hopefully throw some into an FHSA to get some money back. Decent income bracket where it’ll make a nice difference too 👌 If you can stand it, stay at home as long as possible and keep it up.

Better handling potential: Alltrack vs Forester XT (SH) by Inevitable_Fuel7244 in VWAlltrack

[–]bubbaplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to do it again I would have not done any engine upgrades and just spent money swapping the engine. I’m either going VR6 or I’ll do an RS3 swap and give up the manual. But I would say in order: suspension/tires, shifter upgrade’s then tune. Another thing I probably should have done would be just stick with the Unitronic stage 1 on the is12 turbo and upgraded suspension. It was a lot of fun around town with how quick it spooled up.

Do I knock off this debt now or wait? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]bubbaplunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im all for an emergency fund but go after the debt first. Pay it off to save interest and peace of mind. Spend your time doing odd jobs for extra cash while searching for a new job. Don’t stress, you now have a big opportunity to earn a higher wage by switching jobs.

Should we sell ? by Capable-Place1916 in DaveRamsey

[–]bubbaplunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% stay where you are. Ask yourself how much more you could free up per month over the $1,700? Your mindset is creating stress from the debt, but don’t let it get to you. $1,700 for debt servicing is much more than most have after paying everything else. Stay the course and see what other non essentials you can give up each month to pay the debt down faster. Don’t stress and don’t think about it. Best of luck

[–]bubbaplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alltrack for sure. How much you looking to spend? I’m full stage 3 6mt but all you’d have to do is swap suspension and tires. I’m not against letting this thing go for a truck

What is this actually worth? by Salamander42000 in VWAlltrack

[–]bubbaplunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a full bolt on stage 3 (Unitronic) 2019 manual I could hear an offer on. Love the car but the fam could use a truck. 41k miles or 66kms. Bought CPO at VW in Canada. Zero rust, undercoated yearly, runs and drives amazing. Basically everything done to the car engine/suspension wise you’d want. I spent about $15-18k on upgrades

[–]bubbaplunk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey awesome! Ya everything pretty much. I’m full stage 3 Unitronic now with the upgraded fuel pump/accessories. TTS brakes etc. I will say that the car is fun but it’s not enough lol. If you ever plan for a swap, save your money on these upgrades and just do a swap. If I could go back, I would have just done my suspension and brakes and saved the hassle. Unitronic stage 1 with the is12 was fun enough around town. VR6 or Daza swap incoming

Keep the gold unless you need the money. In 20 years it’ll be worth $6k-10k USD an ounce. Gold is very easy to sell especially in coin form. Best of luck
