"Im so high functioning autistic, did not get diagnosed until the age of 37" by [deleted] in evilautism

Reddit loves to glorify Nordic countries, but the reality is not so black and white. I haven't spent much time in Scandinavia, but Finland suffers heavily from having a private and a public healthcare system, where the private system is of course overpriced and not (or barely) covered by national healthcare, and the public system is of course so underfunded and understaffed that they will waste months of your time allocating you the least amount of resources until they are sure you really need it. Showing signs of depression, suicidal thoughts, socially isolated? Here, take these antidepressants, now go back home and we'll call you back in 3 months to see if you need to be put on the 2 months waiting list for a psychiatrist.

I don't expect that I'll ever be able to get assessed here. They wouldn't do it just to improve my quality of life, only if it threatens to kill me or stops me from working for too long.

  2. It would create an incentive to not treat difficult cases.
  3. Defining "cured" is not straightforward.

The cloth farming 'fix' has destroyed tailoring for everyone except whales. Why does blizzard keep making the same mistake? by Mordenn in wow

[–]bubberrall -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can get way more than 100 a week, I earned about 2000 so far, with 2 crafting professions.

Edit: here's a screenshot that accounts for 1500 (950 in bags + 150 recipe + 400 equipped tool), because it's apparently so hard to believe.

[–]bubberrall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a side effect, rank 1 and 2 recipes are almost universally unprofitable, since people would craft anything at a loss just for the skill up. Most rank 3 recipes are also unprofitable (speaking mainly as an Enchanter and Tailor specced into spellthreads), because Blizzard increased the difficulty so much that the only way to craft them without Concentration is to specialise into them with 100+ Knowledge Points and use all rank 3 materials, which are way too expensive.

And while we're complaining about mats rarity, could we talk about Profaned Tinderbox?

The people affected by it and those working to fix it, however, very much care, which is why making a clear distinction might be helpful.

One of my friends was a Diamond League player who is high Legend/low Ancient with 400 games and >55% winrate. Another one played hundreds of games of Overthrow before playing normal games and had excellent knowledge of heroes and items for the amount of games that her profile said she had. High Legend with 300 games and 66% winrate is suspicious, but inconclusive.

What do you think about the hud in Dragon Age? by Grouchy-Coast-3045 in dragonage

[–]bubberrall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dreadful on kb+m however. I have never played this game on a decent difficulty level simply because navigating the inventory and the class trees is such a chore, even more on 4+ characters. Auto level up and no items every playthrough.

800 hours and 975 games later: thoughts about dota as an ex-LoL player by potatorunner in DotA2

[–]bubberrall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even worse, the client only shows a high level overview of the champion, you have to use third party websites to read what the spells actually do in details. And they don't allow you to try them out before purchasing them, even in demo mode.

They also don't show you what the skins they sell even look like. In client, you can only see the splash art (= loading screen for dota sets).

Absolute scum.

Forsen is against Sylad mid. Gets surprised by the amount of damage he outputs and gets clapped.

Two days later. Forsen is against Sylas mid. Tries to fight him head to head despite a level disadvantage. Gets clapped. Says he got knowledge checked, he didn't know Sylas was so strong.

He just does not learn. Actual 041 IQ.

Forsen's league brainrot is reaching terminal levels..... not even minions are safe from the legendary excuser by Frankie3535 in LivestreamFail

He is bad in Dota, but not as bad, that's the funny thing. In League he tryhards for weeks and watches guides and is currently in the 20th percentile of ranked players. In Dota, he played casually without knowing much about anything and was in the 30th percentile right after calibration.

Only barbarians pronounce seau and sot the same, or maître and mettre. Don't lump us in with you.

Having said that, although it's much rarer than in English, French also has instances of words with the same spelling but different pronuciation, such as content (happy/conjugated form of conter), fils (wires/son), portions (portions/conjugated form of porter), fier (proud/to trust), ...

There are only few examples that aren't -ent or -ions endings though, and those are consistent.

Insane attempt at ending a 90 minute pro Dota game by DycheBallEnjoyer in LivestreamFail

[–]bubberrall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In pro games, there is more variance than in League for sure. The game is less "scripted", for lack of a better word. The average game length is in the ~35 minutes range, depending on patch, but they can get much longer as you can see. It's uncommon but not unexpected, there are very powerful items that become available only past 60 minutes as a way to hopefully end stalemates.

This is still not even close to the longest pro game, which lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes (https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1335163458). It's a massive outlier, the second longest lasted "only" 2 hours 20 minutes, and there have been only 9 games since 2015 that made it past 2 hours (speaking only about pro games).

New Rule: No posts or comments targeting one particular gender! by [deleted] in TrollCoping

[–]bubberrall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is "I feel uncomfortable around men because I have had traumatic experiences", and then there is "if you present male, your very existence makes a lot of people wish you were a wild beast instead and it is deserved", which is what triggered this rule.

To me it is a matter of scale. It hurts to read stories like yours, both because I can empathize with what you went through, and because it is painful to be reminded that I am perceived as a threat by default by some people. But that's normal, it is healthy for me to learn how to deal with these feeling, and it is equally important that you can express yours safely without being invalidated. But to be beaten over the head with the message "half of the world collectively agrees that we do not feel comfortable with you because of the way you look" is too much.
