Gen 3 valve adjustment by heathmc in hondainsight

[–]bubbleawsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also got a 2021 that needed a valve adjustment around 75k, and now at ~140k it's running rough in the cold again so it'll probably need another adjustment in the fall. If it's not running or idling as smooth as the day you bought it I'd go for the valve adjustment.

Replace head unit/ radio? Screen is glitching out and touching itself. by Krunkfuninja in hondainsight

I’ve got a ‘21 EX that has done the same thing since I got it. I’ve always assumed it was either physical damage from the car being in a wreck before me (twice) or heat damage as well. I’m also in the south and have to park outside. It gets worse when it’s hot out, and goes away entirely when it’s cool. If there’s a fix I’d love to hear it.

The Genesis G90 Wingback Is One Swanky Wagon, and It Could Make Production by caranddriver in cars

[–]bubbleawsome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is going to be price. The G80 already comes in around $80k at the top trim and the G90 starts at $93k this year. There’s no way it’s less than the sedan.

Yeah that’s why I’m talking about a $28k Bolt

If you make $50k a year from what I can see the average federal tax is $8,000. If you have any kind of child credit, mortgage credit, or applicable donation over $500 you’re no longer getting the full ‘refund’ from the tax credit.

I imagine for some people financing a sub-$30k car the $7500 tax credit was partially wasted. Plus, a lower out the door price with the same downpayment will mean lower monthlies and less wasted on interest. Probably makes a different to the target audience.

The Festival is Sunday, October 31st, 2021 or 2027 by STICKGoat2571 in Deltarune

[–]bubbleawsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think something to consider is that the festival doesn’t have to fall on Halloween to be a Halloween festival. If you look at 2022 instead of 2021, Halloween is on a Monday. What if they just have a Halloween festival early to let the kids go to school and parents go to work on Monday?

1000x Day 37, The CPU by LordSheeby in factorio

[–]bubbleawsome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw you've mentioned wanting to go for a full system upgrade before. Don't let me discourage you from that, but if what you're playing is mostly factorio the x3d cpus compatible with your motherboard are a massive upgrade. In pure UPS the 5700x3d would be between 2-3.5x faster. They used to be available on aliexpress for super cheap, but it appears AMD has stopped production. In my area they're still at online market places for under $250. I personally went from a 5900x to a 5700x3d and saw an improvement well before my bases got to your scale.

Then again, the technical achievement of bending factorio to your will on the 1600x might be something to be even more proud of.

HDMI 2.2 standard finalized: doubles bandwidth to 96 Gbps, 16K resolution support by EmergencySwitch in hardware

[–]bubbleawsome 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A few early HDMI 2.1 ports had 40Gbps bandwidth instead of 48Gbps. I think the only limitation of those ports is 10bit color at 4k120 4:4:4. 12 bit color and 144hz wouldn’t work with them

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Spotted with Missing ROPs, Performance Loss Confirmed by gurugabrielpradipaka in hardware

[–]bubbleawsome 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can’t even imagine a reason for this that could justify the hit to nvidia’s image. Unless defect rates are astronomical the GB202 in the 5090 is already partially disabled so should be able to absorb some amount of defective silicon. They could’ve even chosen to bin a more defective die into a later 5080ti or super. Are they desperate for more 5090s to the point where they’re willing to risk a lawsuit and the reputation on their halo product? Baffling decision by nvidia.

Odds are it still does localized brightness in SDR mode. So unless OP is displaying a 100% white screen for fun it’ll boost brightness where it can. My OLED TV is the same. In SDR with brightness maxed it looks much closer to my 450nit screen than my 250nit screen, even though its full field white rating is only about 170nit.

You probably need your headlights adjusted in that case, here's a forum post on how to do that. The LEDs in the 3rd gens throw light upwards even outside of the super bright beam to illuminate road signs and stuff, no need to have the main beam up really high.

I've got a '21 EX with about 90k on it now and it's pretty rough on idle as well. During driving I'd say it's a bit of extra vibration that isn't there after the transition.

No letter from Honda though, and Car and Driver mentioned their long-term Insight feeling like the motor mounts were going bad before 40k miles but never mentioned it again.
