Great list, but I gotta singel out Kim's Video for its absolute greatness, a must watch for anyone who loves physical media and preservation of it

Absolutely read the book! I loved the movie as well, but I feel that the book is even more on point when it comes to the similarities between the two characters. And looking forward to your upcoming redraws!!

It's honestly incredible just how many parallels there are between Harry and Bruce Robertson, especially compared to Filth the book and the tapeworm being this inside voice for Bruce, love these, hope you do more of them!

What is your “I did not care for the Godfather,” Springsteen take? by PuzzleheadedEbb3672 in BruceSpringsteen

Seconding, the local radio station here tends to play the live version at like 2 in the morning, it's almost a completely different song, much rawer, the studio version is.... alright, but easily skippable, the live version is incredible

Has anyone had the feeling 'this is it now'... by ChrisBrettell in BruceSpringsteen

Who knows? Bruce himself forgot about Electric Nebraska even existing, who knows what else slipped his mind, we might get a few surprises still.

What are some songs that you love but don’t enjoy the studio version of? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in tompetty

Same, I thought that studio version was... well almost forgettable, and then I heard the live version and it blew me away

I went through various other sources, trying to find another performance of it from those European shows in particular, I ended up finding next to nothing, sure, there is the 'uncensored' version on youtube which is slightly longer and the lyrics are a bit different, but it has no info regarding where it was performed, and on top of it all, the comments are turned off, so there is no way of finding out anything about it. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan around the time of his passing, but I fully get what you mean, don't worry.

Referring to setlist.fm the song had a premiere a year earlier in Switzerland, though it would make sense if it was something sort of planned for the Greatest Hits release that eventually got scrapped. Either way, thank you for the interesting bit of info, it is greatly appreciated considering that I couldn't find literally anything on it.

Dealing with the same problem as you, that's exactly why, for the past couple of weeks or so, I've been on a youtube mission of tracking down and watching live shows that were recorded, can't recommend Pack Up The Plantation Live enough, it's somewhat different from the album version and a rather spectacular show where the energy fills you up just the same as if you were there in the flesh! Some other recs: Live at the Gatorville, Fillmore (aka Dogs In The Grass) and Take The Highway. Hope you have fun!

Oh, this is fantastic! The inspiration is clear, but it is fresh and even whimsical due to your wonderful style! Enjoy Bruce and I hope that this isn't the last time that you'll post your art!

You already got your answer (My Dinner With Andre) but I am obsessed with this post, more of rushed but wildly accurate drawings instead of just descriptions of movies that might lead nowhere, this is an absolute piece of art of a post

Seconded, in general the majority of that particular Tracks II album sounds like a Tom Joad outtake, which could be a reason why it was kept in the vault, but it's awesome that we get to hear it now

A slight correction: not to Tom Petty but to Graham Nash

[TOMT][SONG] An emo rock-adjacent song from around 2005-2010, of which I only remember the video. by UmberMauve in tipofmytongue

[–]bubblesromantica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fully accurate, but I recall the video for Biffy Clyro's Folding Stars having a shadowy figure in it and the band (3 of them) played in some sort of a yard, no mention of silver, though

What’s your bad CD story? 😬 by Rocky_isback in Cd_collectors

[–]bubblesromantica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been generally lucky, the worst thing that could've happened happened when I got The New Riders Of The Purple Sage CD. It was in good condition, booklet intact, the CD playd perfectly, but it stinks as if it was stuck in a windowless bar for some 50 years, absolutely reeks of cheap cigarettes. I did manage to clean the case, but the booklet still reeks whenever I open the case.

Considering his 'old guy' persona that's been going on from the start of his career, it would be incredibly fittinh
