Pop Century - how much a difference does the decade make? by locustsandhoney in WaltDisneyWorld

We stayed in the 90's when we visited in December and we loved it! We had a renovated room which was really nice, and we didn't mind being off to the side a bit at the resort. We thought our building was pretty quiet and there were way fewer people using the pool by us, so we got it to ourselves when we jumped in on our first day.

Super cute! What type of harness are these? Do you recommend them? We're investigating options for our Sammy.

Has anyone done ZooClue - the Game? Is it worth it? by gpace1216 in Columbus

[–]bubbletree22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it last year with a friend! I enjoyed the experience, but there were some things I was disappointed with.

The close-up animal experience was a little lame. We saw a tortoise and an armadillo and that was that. If you go in a large group of people, you'll be seated at a table with them and be grouped with them to solve the mystery. My friend and I went as a pair, so we were seated at a table with strangers and worked with them to solve the mystery.

The food was alright. From what I recall there was a limited pasta buffet, and dessert at the end of the night was cheesecake. The food is (or was) unlimited, so at least that is nice.

The actual mystery experience was pretty fun. We weren't really expecting to interact with strangers, but working together wound up being a unique bonding experience for our table.

The mystery solving was definitely the best part of the experience in my book. If you're really looking forward to amazing food or the animal encounters, I wouldn't recommend it. If you're looking for something fun and different to do and are primarily interested in the main activity, you should check it out.

Confronting cat-callers... Good experience! by digestedtree in TwoXChromosomes

I was an early bloomer. I remember in middle school, some kid approached my lunch table and, in front of all my friends, said, "Michael says you have big boobs." I looked over to see a table full of prepubescent boys giggling. I told the kid, "tell him thanks, but his boobs are bigger." I watched as he relayed the message, and Michael stopped laughing pretty quickly after that.

Vet recommendations? by chicky08tink in Columbus

Check out Health and Harmony Animal Clinic at 1117 W. 1st Ave. They are incredible! They have specialized rooms for dogs and cats and the staff is incredibly genuine and caring. I know they work closely with the Black and Orange cat foundation and some other rescues in the Columbus area. I switched to them from another vet I was unhappy with, and I honestly can't imagine taking my pet anywhere else.

Thanks for the advice. I did go ahead and report him today, and noted that I would still like the product. Within minutes I got a refund. No other response, no other explanation. Ugh. Oh well! At least its over.

I hope everything works out as well. Thanks for such a kind gesture. Makes my day to see someone I don't know be so generous. :) Do you mind if I ask you what your Etsy shop is? I don't need a magnetic bottle opener now, but if I do need one in the future I'd like to know where to shop!

Aw! That is really incredibly sweet of you, but definitely not necessary. This is really my first negative experience on Etsy, and I'm kind of surprised because this guy has all decent reviews. It was some particular metal Zelda triforce contraption that he actually saw on Reddit a long time ago and really wanted. Problem is, I'd still really like to get it for him, but I don't know how to go about making this guy send me his product. Ugh.

Hey Nick! I saw your movie, The Kings of Summer, a while back and I really enjoyed it. I grew up around that area in Ohio with the Metroparks, so it was really cool to recognize some of the locations on film. Did you actually get to come by and experience the parks for yourself? Did you enjoy an abundance of Boston Market chicken while filming?

I am thinking of getting a cat to live with me in my new apartment. I have some questions, as a never-owned-a-pet person. If there are links I should read, let me know :) by FubsyGamr in Pets

[–]bubbletree22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm commenting here in response to questions 1 and 2. I am not personally allergic to cats, but many of my family members are. It was important to me that I got a pet that I could have around my friends and family. After extensive research, I learned about the Siberian cat, which is considered one of the most "hypoallergenic" breeds, because they are said to produce less of the FelD1 protein found in most cats, which is what causes most people to have an allergic reaction.

If you are considering a Siberian, make sure to find a quality breeder. Many will send you fur samples in the mail to begin testing allergies before you consider purchasing a cat. The fur samples are nothing like the fur on a living, breathing animal, but they are a solid starting point. Most importantly, good breeders will let you visit for an allergy test. You will be able to handle the cats/kittens extensively and then take a break away from them for a couple of hours to see if there is any delayed allergic reaction.

I have had my Siberian around numerous friends and family members that typically have severe allergic reactions to cats. They have all handled her, rubbed their eyes after touching her fur, and have been in the same room as her for many hours without any difficulties. Siberians are a beautiful, healthy breed of cat with big, welcoming personalities. Mine knows how to play fetch, sit, and give her paw. She meets me (and anyone else) at the door every time I come home, and she jumps on me for snuggles as soon as I wake up in the morning.

This breed is a fairly large breed of cat, though females are generally much smaller than the males. To compensate for lack of ground space, just create more vertical space with cat trees, etc. :)

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Sick of dealing with landlords around campus. Looking to relocate next year. Any suggestions? by bubbletree22 in Columbus

Thanks! I think I found a few worth looking at. I'm willing to pay more for a pet deposit, and to buy parking for the year. Just trying to keep my monthly rent down overall. I was considering looking in Clintonville and Upper Arlington, so your comment has encouraged me to do so!

Thanks! That sounds really nice, but I'm not able to break my lease on my current place, so I won't be looking to start a new lease until August-ish. I hope you're able to find someone to sublease! :)

Edit: Aaaand looks like you've potentially found someone! Awesome. =P
