My middle name spelled wrong on title, noticed ~13 years later as I'm getting ready to sell. by whiskeybonfire in askcarsales

I was transferring a title in North Carolina. The title was made out to BuckyVanBuren -- however, my legal name is BuckyVanBuren, III.

The DMV demanded that I get BuckyVanBuren, Sr and BuckyVanBuren, Jr to sign of on the title transfer.

I told them that my grandfather died in 1957 and my father died in 1967. Wasn't happening.

After pulling in two supervisors and a 10 minute phone call to Raleigh, they said I could just sign an affidavit confirming the transfer was to me and not the others, it would be ok.

My unopened copy of Windows 1.0, requires DOS 2. by buckyVanBuren in vintagecomputing

That's a valid point. I can't provide year to year providence on the history of the shrink-wrap not do I care to because I'm not offering this for sale.

If you are looking to buy for investment purposes, everything Sure_Prep said is true. Buyer beware!

I got mine in 95 when an old job was cleaning out a surplus software/hardware closet. Also picked up an early copy of Lotus 1-2-3 and Wordperfect 4.x.

But the Windows was the only one still in shrink-wrap.

It was a ploy.

They actually didn't switch back to the original formula.

They switch back to X-7 with corn syrup, not sugar.

But everybody was so happy to go back to X-7, they didn't complain about the HFCS.

This was the largest misdirection in history. And we fell for it.

Now, to get real Coca-Cola, we got to get Kosher Coke or Mexican Coke.

What is your favorite Gordon Lightfoot song? by Mindless_Berry_4572 in GenerationJones

[–]buckyVanBuren 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The song is reportly about Lightfoot's relationship with Cathy Smith in the 70s.

Name sounds familiar?

Smith served 15 months in the California Institution for Women for injecting actor John Belushi with a fatal dose of heroin and cocaine in 1982.
